Where Dragons Slumber

A card of the week for Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

Without the Dragons of Ulthuan, the High Elves would have been annihilated thousands of years ago. The Dragons are the oldest and greatest allies of the Elves, and the fates of both races are forever intertwined. Within Ulthuan, the realm of Caledor is the home of the Dragons and in ancient days those noble beasts could always be seen riding the thermals of the mountain ranges there. But times have changed. Now, in colossal caverns found deep within the Dragonspine Mountains, the Dragons sleep away the centuries. It has been known for a prince to spend months if not years giving voice to the ancient songs of awakening, pleading with the slumbering form of an ancient Dragon to rouse and aid the Elves of Ulthuan.

Welcome back to another card of the week spotlight for Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game! Omens of Ruin, the first Battle Pack in The Morrslieb Cycle, is on store shelves. But the strange green light enveloping the Old World foretells dark events, and the most dire still lie ahead. The Chaos Moon will be out later this month, and with it comes a potentially devastating combo for the High Elves. Today, we’ll look at not one, but two cards from this exciting second Battle Pack in The Morrslieb Cycle.

From their caverns in the Dragonspine Mountains, the powerful Dragons can, on occasion, be compelled to come to the aid of their High Elf allies. Dragon’s Lair is a support card that brings the possibility of a viable Dragon-themed deck one step closer to reality. After accumulating resource tokens over time, it can be used to search the top five cards of your deck for a unit with the Dragon keyword.

Descendant of Indraugnir, with its sizeable indirect damage effect, is a great choice around which to build your Dragon deck. But The Chaos Moon also brings the destructive power of the mighty Moon Dragon, a high-cost unit that will indiscriminately rain fire upon friend and foe alike.

Later this month, visit the sacred site of the slumbering Dragons and give voice the ancient songs of awakening for yourself. When they awaken, these ancient allies will bring a new level of power to your High Elf deck!
