A Dangerous Development
A Warhammer: Invasion Card of the Week spotlight
Welcome to another card of the week spotlight for Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game! The Warpstone Chronicles, the fifth Battle Pack of The Corruption Cycle, will be on store shelves very soon. Today, we’re happy to present a look at some of the best reasons to develop your battlefield zone, as well as an Empire attachment from Warpstone that will pack a powerful punch if you do.
If you’re an Empire player, there’s plenty to like about developments; in addition to increasing the damage your capital can take, they do cool things like protecting you from your own Judgement of Verena and beefing up your Shrine to Taal effect. But what about developing your battlefield zone, specifically?
It’s always a good idea, but this is perhaps even more true for players running an Empire/Dwarf combination deck... which brings us to our card of the week. The Helblaster Volley Gun is a potent contraption that increases the damage of a unit for every development you have in your battlefield zone!
Consider the synergy with cards that either bolster your number of developments or profit from them. The City Gate ensures a steady stream of incoming developments and Dwarf Masons add a development as well; meanwhile, Wake the Mountain can offer an impressive boost of developments all at once. But who should you attach the Helblaster volley Gun to?
There are a few good Empire options, but again, the Dwarfs seem to offer the best combinations. Troll Slayers, for example, would hit even harder if they were firing this massive cannon from a battlefield with two or more developments. And the Ironbreakers of Ankhor could use it to become a real powerhouse, dealing out as much damage as they can take!
Keep your eyes open at your friendly local retailer for The Warpstone Chronicles, and join us next week for another card of the week!
