The Great War Continues

The October State of the Game report for Tannhäuser

Welcome to the October State of the Game for Tannhäuser, the latest in a periodic series of articles to keep you updated. For the last update, check out Tannhäuser: State of the Game. For those of you just joining us, Tannhäuser is a game set in the 1950’s. World War I has never ended, and each side is trying to break the stalemate. For more information on this game, check out the description page.

We are currently involved in revising the rules for Tannhäuser. This is a large-scale project, as we will be revising the base game rules and the Novgorod rules, including revising all of the scenarios to reflect these updated rules. The updated Novgorod rules will be included in the Tannhäuser 2.0 rules. All of your comments in the forums are being read, and we are taking these into account. The rules will be available for free from our website, or for those who want a physical copy, it will be available from our webstore for $5.

As far as rules updates go, we are making sure that these will allow you to use all of your existing materials. We are updating the weapon abilities, the equipment abilities, and making sure the rules will fit both the world and the components you already have. To answer a question that has popped up a couple of times, no we are not abandoning the Path Finding System. We love the system and are sticking with it.

Regarding Project: Daedalus, we feel that given the rules revisions that are currently underway, Daedalus would be a better release with the new rules firmly in place. Accordingly, we are holding back the release of Daedalus until the new rules are 100% and we are rewriting the scenarios in Daedalus to reflect these rules updates. In addition, we are adding a new map to the back of the Labyrinth map and two new scenarios to the Daedalus expansion.

We have big plans for this game. We are working on a vibrant and exciting schedule of releases for this game. We are still getting assets, and there is still much to go over. Many of the upcoming projects have a fair amount left to be finished, but we are working adamantly on these to get them completed and available. In the meantime, Wolf will be available for purchase in time for Christmas!

This detailed pre-painted plastic miniature will come with 18 game tokens and a brand new scenario! Wielding the deadly experimental machine gun "Freiheit," Wolf is able to take down foe after foe... and in addition to his weapons prowess, Wolf brings a wide variety of skills to the table with his "Jack of All Trades" ability.

Equal parts pirate, plunderer, mercenary, and smuggler, Wolf sells his services to the highest bidder. Last year, the Union Counterintelligence Corps classified him as one of the three most wanted men in the world... but this Christmas, you'll find him at your local game retailer and at our webstore!

Tannhäuser is a squad based game set in a U-chronic past. WWI has never ended and the forces of the Reich have turned to the occult. The forces of the Union have delved into alien technology and developed deadly weapons of war. Using the revolutionary Path-Finding System, Tannhäuser is quick and easy to play.
