A Returning Conspiracy
Announcing the New, Repackaged The Innsmouth Conspiracy Cycle
In the shadowy, decrepit seaport of Innsmouth, a tangled scheme begins to unravel. A government agent goes missing; strange creatures are sighted by the reef along the coastline; water levels rise; and, caught in the center of this conspiracy, several outsiders awaken in a deadly pit with no memories of how they got there or how to escape.
Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce The Innsmouth Conspiracy, the final pair of repackaged expansions for Arkham Horror: The Card Game!
Return to the sixth cycle of content for Arkham Horror LCG with The Innsmouth Conspiracy Investigator Expansion and The Innsmouth Conspiracy Campaign Expansion. Just like with previous cycles, all player cards for this cycle can be found within the Investigator Expansion while all campaign- and scenario-related cards can be found in the Campaign Expansion. This is the perfect opportunity for new fans to experience its sixth full-length campaign, and for longtime fans to catch up on any parts they may have missed. Whether you want just one of the expansions or both, you won’t want to miss out on The Innsmouth Conspiracy!
Note: As with all other repackaged cycles, longtime fans of Arkham Horror: The Card Game who already own everything from the original The Innsmouth Conspiracy cycle will not find any new cards or content within these two expansions.
Dreams of the Deep
The encroaching Deep Ones are a formidable threat. Thankfully, The Innsmouth Conspiracy Investigator Expansion brings a versatile group of five investigators to the table.
As always, each investigator has their own strengths and weaknesses that they can bring to any campaign, not just The Innsmouth Conspiracy.
First among those investigators is Sister Mary (The Innsmouth Conspiracy Investigator Expansion, 1), the nun. This Guardian investigator has very high base sanity and above-average willpower, allowing her to confront the horrors of the Mythos while keeping her mind healthy. Her innate abilities utilize a mechanic that was first introduced in the original run of The Innsmouth Conspiracy cycle: bless tokens. These special chaos tokens grant you a +2 bonus to a test whenever you draw them, though they also cause you to draw an additional token, which could boost your success even higher or cancel it out, depending on what you pull. Bless tokens are removed from the chaos bag once drawn, but Sister Mary’s ability lets you add more to the bag and keep the good blessings flowing. Her signature asset, Guardian Angel (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 6), allows Sister Mary to protect her fellow investigators while also adding more bless tokens to the chaos bag. This is all well and good, but you must be careful to prevent Mary from having a Crisis of Faith (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 7), or else all those bless tokens could wind up being converted into their negative counterpart, curse tokens!
Naturally, Sister Mary’s focus on bless tokens synergizes well with other player cards that come in this expansion. The Book of Psalms (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 17) can add additional bless tokens to the chaos bag, while the Rite of Sanctification (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 19) can “seal” those tokens (take them out and place them on the card) to grant discounts on other player cards later. Since Sister Mary can also include some Mystic cards in her deck, she can make use of cards like Ward of Radiance (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 31) to further boost her versatility.
Joining Sister Mary and the other Innsmouth Conspiracy investigators is Silas Marsh (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 5), the sailor. A tough-as-nails Survivor with the ability to get multiple uses out of skill cards, Silas is a flexible investigator who can hit some impressive highs during his tests, especially when fighting or evading. His two signature assets, the Sea Change Harpoon (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 14) and Silas’s Net (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 15), both allow him to pour tons of skill cards into a fight or evade action respectively and then get them all back by returning the asset to his hand. This means that Silas can commit cards like Predestined (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 35), Beloved (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 36) and Unrelenting (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 196) to multiple tests in a row, ensuring that he can always get the maximum use out of them. Just be wary of the Siren Call (The Innsmouth Conspiracy IE, 16) of Silas’s cursed ancestry throwing him off his game, or else you may find your resources significantly drained.
In the Deep, They Thrive
Whether or not you have any interest in the Investigator Expansion, you’ll still want to check out The Innsmouth Conspiracy Campaign Expansion!
The story of this campaign is shrouded in mystery; after all, you and your fellow investigators wake up in the middle of it, with no memory of what happened or how you wound up in a deadly pit full of things that want to kill you. As each scenario unfolds, you’ll slowly piece together your missing memories through “flashback” sequences that you can trigger as you play. These flashbacks provide important clues about something fishy going on in the town of Innsmouth, and what you need to do to resolve the situation.
Of course, that’s all assuming you actually survive, and that’s where things get tricky.
See, things aren’t quite…right in Innsmouth. The place is crawling with Deep Ones (The Innsmouth Conspiracy Campaign Expansion, 88), but they aren’t threatening the town; they’re part of it. And they don’t take kindly to outsiders. As if reclaiming your scattered memories wasn’t difficult enough, you’ll have to contend with Deep One Assaults (The Innsmouth Conspiracy CE, 90), Innsmouth Troublemakers (The Innsmouth Conspiracy CE, 105) and Furtive Locals (The Innsmouth Conspiracy CE, 107) getting in your way, all while trying to figure out the truth behind this “Order” they keep referring to before they wake up something big.
All eight scenarios from the original The Innsmouth Conspiracy campaign are included in this Campaign Expansion, with all the mystery and peril that comes with them. There’s a shadow over Innsmouth, one that will spread across the world unless you’re able to shine a light on the situation. Will you recover your memories in time to solve the mystery of Innsmouth? Or will you drown in a flood of monsters and madness?
Into the Maelstrom
It’s a race against time as a conspiracy unfolds in Innsmouth, with the fate of the world depending on whether or not you and your fellow investigators can remember what the heck is going on. Whether you missed the original run of The Innsmouth Conspiracy or are just now getting into Arkham Horror: The Card Game, you can look forward to adding The Innsmouth Conspiracy Investigator Expansion and The Innsmouth Conspiracy Campaign Expansion to your collection when they release this September and October respectively!
