The Last of the Jedi
Announcing Two New Operative Expansions for Star Wars: Legion
“The Force is strong in my family.”
–Luke Skywalker, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
The Force binds the Star Wars galaxy together, connecting all living things and granting those sensitive to its presence extraordinary abilities. Sometimes, this mysterious energy field flows from one generation to the next, bestowing its gifts on multiple members of the same family. Soon, two Force users sharing this legacy can join the battles that will determine the fate of the galaxy.
Fantasy Flight Games is happy to announce two Operative Expansions for Star Wars™: Legion:
Epitomizing both the selfless devotion of the Jedi and the aggressive strength of the Sith, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are two of the most iconic Force users in the Star Wars saga, and these Operative Expansions give them the chance to take on completely new roles in their armies. Featuring new miniatures and command cards interchangeable with the Commander units found in the Star Wars: Legion Core Set, these units give you new ways to unleash the power of the Force on your opponents!
Luke Skywalker Operative Expansion
From firing the proton torpedoes that destroyed the first Death Star to his climactic duel with Darth Vader that brought the Empire to its knees, Luke Skywalker is one of the Rebellion’s most enduring heroes. But his accomplishments extend far beyond the Rebellion. Studying under the legendary master Yoda, Luke became the first new Jedi Knight in a generation, helping bring the order back from the edge of extinction.
While the version of Luke Skywalker found in the Core Set was only just beginning to explore his connection to the Force, the Rebel operative you’ll find here has refined his skills and become a full-fledged Jedi. As such, he wields his lightsaber with unmatched precision and can call upon even more Force powers than ever before. As a Jedi, however, Skywalker may choose to embrace knowledge and defense, eschewing his own attacks to control those of his opponents.
Within the Luke Skywalker Operative Expansion, you’ll find one unpainted, finely sculpted miniature depicting Luke Skywalker as a Jedi Knight, as he appears at the end of Return of the Jedi. Meanwhile, three command cards that can be used alongside the Luke Skywalker command cards from the Star Wars: Legion Core Set give you the freedom to shape exactly how you use this powerful operative in battle. Finally, four upgrade cards invite you to further augment Luke Skywalker with additional Force powers and training. Like previous Star Wars: Legion releases, the miniature in this expansion is made of soft plastic and comes with its parts bagged.
We’ll take a closer look at everything included—including all of his command cards—in this expansion in a future preview!
Darth Vader Operative Expansion
Feared by friend and foe alike, Darth Vader is the living embodiment of the Empire’s might. Before he could become one of the most fearsome field commanders in the galaxy, however, he honed his skills hunting Jedi to the far corners of the galaxy. Now, Vader is ready to carry out the Emperor’s bidding by decimating the Rebel Alliance wherever it can be found.
Whether swinging his lightsaber or harnessing his raw aggression to blast the enemy with the power of the Force, Darth Vader is an intimidating Imperial operative who can quickly scatter the Rebel forces arrayed against him. Eager to prove his worth to his master, this version of Darth Vader relentlessly pursues his prey across the battlefield, going so far as to spur himself onward to his target. Despite his combat prowess, Vader’s ability to strike fear in those who oppose him may be his strongest asset.
In the Darth Vader Operative Expansion, you’ll find an unpainted, easily assembled Darth Vader miniature in a different pose from the one found in the Star Wars: Legion Core Set. This miniature is accompanied by three new Darth Vader command cards that can be used by both the operative and commander versions of the unit, letting you tailor your strategy with either unit. Rounding out this expansion are four upgrade cards to augment Darth Vader with even more Force powers or complete his training. Like previous Star Wars: Legion releases, the miniature in this expansion is made of soft plastic and comes with its parts bagged.
