An Unlikely Hero

The leaders of the Rebel Alliance come from a variety of backgrounds. Some are experienced veterans of conflicts across the galaxy. Others, like Leia Organa, honed their leadership skills in the Imperial Senate before transitioning to the battlefield. Even with this great diversity of experience, Han Solo still stands out among Rebel commanders.

More at home piloting the Millennium Falcon, Solo brings many of the traits that made him a successful smuggler to Star Wars: Legion: a knack for improvisation, the ability to think on the fly, and more than a little luck. Within the Han Solo Commander Expansion, you’ll find plenty of ways to apply these traits to your battles, beginning with his three signature command cards. Each of these cards reflects Han Solo’s propensity for uncommon strategies, allowing him to quickly respond to enemy action and bend the flow of battle in the Rebels’ favor.

But the unique tactics he brings to the field aren’t the only contribution Han Solo can make. For 120 points, your army will also gain an experienced gunslinger with a quick blaster hand that gives him the ability to perform ranged attacks against two different units in a single activation. Furthermore, Han Solo has more than his fair share of luck. Even though he may roll the weaker white defense die on the battlefields of Star Wars: Legion, his Uncanny Luck allows him to reroll up to three of these dice, giving him better than average odds of avoiding damage.

Bring Down the Empire

An unconventional leader like Han Solo needs unconventional soldiers to lead into battle and the Rebel Commandos Unit Expansion is the perfect complement to one of the Rebellion’s most iconic heroes. Like Solo, the seven unpainted, easily assembled miniatures found in this expansion behave a little differently than their fellow soldiers, opening up all sorts of new tactical possibilities for your Rebel armies.

For sixty points, you’ll get a complete squad of Rebel Commandos that offers several improvements over standard Rebel Troopers. Thanks to their Low Profile ability, these special forces soldiers are more adept at using cover than their corps counterparts. Meanwhile, their Sharpshooter 1 ability makes every Rebel Commando a particularly good shot with their A-280 blaster rifle, allowing them to reduce the cover of any enemy they're attacking with a ranged attack.

The Rebel Commandos truly set themselves apart with their flexibility. In addition to a standard squad, you can also choose to deploy them as a strike team primed for operating behind enemy lines. Beginning at just sixteen points, this configuration starts with a single Rebel Commando miniature, then adds either a DH-447 Sniper or a Proton Charge Saboteur miniature to create a two-person team focusing on a deadly heavy weapons miniature.
