The Star Wars™: Armada Core Set is on its way to stores right now, and it's scheduled for release tomorrow!

Soon, you'll have your chance to command Imperial or Rebel fleets in the pursuit of glory or freedom, and it won't be long before you'll be able to test your mettle in competitive play. Spring Star Wars: Armada Tournament Kits are also on their way, and we encourage you to make the most of your Tournament Kits by hosting a Star Wars: Armada launch event!

Whether you plan on hosting a launch event or tournaments in the future, today also marks the release of the Star Wars: Armada Tournament Rules (pdf, 5.4 MB).

Armada Tournament Play

The Galactic Civil War wasn't won in a day. Even the destruction of the first Death Star didn't tip the balance far enough in the Rebellion's favor for them to claim victory. Accordingly, you'll find that the Armada tournament rules offer a long-term approach to the game's competitive play, even as they allow you to blast immediately into the hottest exchanges of laser fire and concussion missiles that you'll find anywhere in the galaxy.

As early as this weekend, you can launch into Armada Core Set tournaments. These require you to bring a fleet of 180 points or less and adhere to all the other standard Armada tournament rules. Then, when the first wave of expansions becomes available, Armada tournaments will shift to the utilization of 300-point fleets. Finally, with the arrival of the second wave of Armada expansion, the game will reach its cap at 400-point fleets.
