An Inevitable Doom

The Inevitable City, a Warhammer: Invasion Battle Pack, is now on sale

Only deeds of blood and madness draw the Dark Ones’ gaze…     –The Saga of Khalac Swordsson

The Inevitable City, the first Battle Pack in The Capital Cycle for Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game, is now on sale at your local retailer and on our webstore!

Harness the powers of corruption as you war for supremacy in the Old World. With 60 new cards (3 copies each of 20 different cards), and half of them dedicated to the forces of Chaos and their corrupting influence, The Inevitable City offers exciting new synergies for the forces of evil.

Additionally, The Inevitable City introduces the Feared keyword, allowing your attacking units to blank the text boxes of your opponent’s defenders–including traits!

Unyielding tides of Chaos

For Chaos players who build strategies capable of surviving early rushes and devious manipulation, we offer amazing late-game power. In a previous spotlight, we revealed Khorvak Grimbreath (The Inevitable City, 6), a dark Hero who allows your corrupted units to attack from any zone. The forces of Chaos are unlikely to run out of corrupted units anytime soon, so why not partner Khorvak’s awesome ability with the brute might of a gigantic creature whose race made an ancient pact with the Chaos Gods and which, for their own inscrutable reason, those Dark Gods have continued to honor?

The Inevitable City introduces the Shaggoth (The Inevitable City, 9). Shaggoths are perhaps the oldest monsters to walk the Old World, many of which are over six thousand years old. At five cost, a Shaggoth is not to be considered lightly, but this towering mountain of muscle and rage starts with three Power… and gains Power for each corrupted unit you control, meaning when you play it, your opponent’s doom should follow shortly!

Turning the world upside down

The Inevitable City brings other, subtler chaos to the game, allowing players to build decks around cards like Willpower (The Inevitable City, 19), Savage Forsaken (The Inevitable City, 8), and Storm of Change (The Inevitable City, 14), which are likely to change the way you think about cards’ Loyalty costs.

With the introduction of exciting new units for each faction as well as powerful neutral units, The Inevitable City offers a taste of war for all players, but you, you scions of Chaos, you find the Battle Pack you’ve long awaited. It was inevitable. Head to your local retailer or our webstore today to find the tools to drown the world in blood and madness!
