A raging Wookiee can be seen in one of two ways:

If you've angered the Wookiee and it's coming after you, you might see the Wookiee as a worrisome force of destruction. Its low growl, towering form, obvious strength, and renowned ferocity may have you questioning your life decisions—even as you look for ways to extend your suddenly fragile lifespan.

If, however, the Wookiee is your ally, and it's lunging into a pack of Stormtroopers who, much to their surprise, find themselves tossed about like rag dolls, you might view the Wookiee's rage from an entirely different perspective. You may see it as the manifestation of its fierce loyalty and its bravery—its unrelenting nobility of spirit.

No matter how you view a raging Wookiee, though, you'll have your chance to get a better look at one during 2018's third season of Organized Play for Star Wars™: Imperial Assault!

A celebration of the Imperial Assault skirmish game, Imperial Assault Organized Play helps you find other players, enjoy more of the game's tactical combats, and see new and interesting strategies. Better yet, your participation in Organized Play events puts you in contention for a whole host of custom prizes, including an extended art version of the Wookiee Avenger skirmish card!

See What You Can Scavenge

The 2018 Season Three Tournament Kit for Star Wars: Imperial Assault comes with seventeen Core Prize Cards, three Elite Prize Cards, and two Elite Prize Sets. One of these Core Prize Cards and one Elite Prize Card are the event organizer's to keep or distribute at their discretion, but the other prizes are all up for grabs, awarded to those commanders who can best balance their pursuit of objective points with their destruction of enemy forces.

Whether you enjoy your skirmish battles in an Entanglement Tournament or over the course of an Imperial Assault league, you can claim one of the Core Prize Cards for finishing among the Top 16 participants, and if you finish among the Top 4 participants, you'll be able to choose one of the Elite Prize Cards or Elite Prize Sets.

Core Prize Card

The Top 16 participants in each Season Three 2018 Entanglement Tournament or Imperial Assault league receive a double-sided, alternate art version of the popular Jawa Scavenger unit. One side features the standard Jawa Scavenger while the other features the elite version, which allows your Mercenary army to recruit up to three Droid groups from any other affiliations.

Both sides boast an action-packed illustration by Audrey Hotte, who depicts the yellow-eyed smuggler returning enemy fire from the cover it has taken behind a pile of scrap.

Elite Prize Card

Battle your way into the Top 4 of your Entanglement Touranment or Imperial Assault league, and you'll earn the chance to claim an Elite Prize Card or Elite Prize Set. If you choose the Elite Prize Card, you'll be able to bring Chewbacca to your games, bigger and bolder than ever!

This extended-art version of the Wookiee Avenger skirmish upgrade features all the same game information as the version from the Heart of the Empire campaign expansion, but it boasts a version of Chewbacca that can no longer be contained by the standard art frame.

When Heart of the Empire was released, players everywhere were exicted for its skirmish upgrades because they meant we'd see more of Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Chewbacca. And now that we've seen them feature on more and more tables, this upgrade allows you to get an even better look at everyone's favorite Wookiee.

Elite Prize Set

Alternatively, if you make the Top 4 and don't claim the Wookiee Avenger Elite Prize Card, you can upgrade your collection of Imperial Assault tokens with the five Weaken tokens featured in the Season Three 2018 Elite Prize Set.

These acrylic tokens feature purple paint atop a frosted white base and hinder the attack and defense of any figure that suffers them—perfect for anytime you find yourself on the wrong side of the raging Wookiee!

Three New Figure Packs Are Now Available for Imperial Assault

There's almost no limit to what the droids of the Star Wars universe can do. They can walk and talk and think. They can be loyal. They can be treacherous. Sometimes, they may even be grumpy and cantankerous.

In one sense, they share hard limitations imposed upon them by their parts and their programming. But in another sense, they're limited only by the imaginations of their creators. And this means that, just like the galaxy's organic sentients, droids can play an astonishing array of roles—assassins or astromechs, medics or translators, heroes or villains.

And with the three new Ally and Villain Packs now available at your local retailer, you can explore more of these droids and their roles in your games of Imperial Assault!

Assassins

The droids from the BT-1 and 0-0-0 Villain Pack may look like the heroic and iconic droid duo of C-3PO and R2-D2, but don't let their appearances fool you!

These droids—known also as "Bee Tee" and "Triple Zero"—are sociopathic assassins who delight in the termination of "meatbags" of all varieties. And like Darth Vader, whom they accompany in the Darth Vader comics, they're very good at their jobs.

Underneath his deceptively benign astromech exterior, BT-1 sports an astonishing arsenal of lasers and missiles that, in Imperial Assault, translate to three attack dice—red, yellow, and blue—that can be launched in different directions with his Missile Salvo ability. Then, because he's a deadly metallic Assassin, Bee Tee gets to focus each of his attacks, meaning he can either roll out one massive attack of four dice or three attacks each at two dice.

Triple Zero , on the other hand, is a bit more sly, but he's no less sadistic. Because he lacks a ranged arsenal like Bee Tee's, Triple Zero needs to get into melee to make an impact, but once he does, he can stun his foes and deal them bleeding wounds. At the same time, he can weaken all adjacent enemies with his Unnerving gaze at the end of his activation. For just four points, Triple Zero offers a highly versatile deployment in your campaign or skirmish.

Salvage

The mysterious aliens known as Jawas may not be droids, but they are quite closely associated with droids. Scavengers native to the deserts of Tatooine, Jawas traverse the dunes in their massive, treaded sandcrawlers, always looking for the chance to capture, salvage, rebuild, modify, repurpose, and sell all types of droids.

Likewise, you'll find droids weighing pretty heavily upon the mind of the Jawa from the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack. In your Imperial Assault campaign, the elite Jawa Scavenger grants extra speed and evade results to all friendly Droids, and the skirmish version of the elite Jawa Scavenger allows you to repurpose as many as three Droid units from any faction for use in your army.

While the non-elite Jawa Scavenger doesn't have any specific Droid-related game ability, we like to think he was one of the Jawas hard at work on IG-88's newest modifications. The new skirmish upgrade Focused on the Kill is yet another way the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack adds versatility—and a certain brutality—to the droids of Imperial Assault.

Heroes

An infamously cranky astromech, C1-10P—aka "Chopper"—was, for all his flaws, a truly heroic, resourceful, and indispensable member of the Lothal rebels whose efforts proved invaluable to the formation and success of the fledgling Rebel Alliance.

It was Chopper's job to keep the Ghost running, and he did so admirably, maintaining and repairing the ship after multiple encounter with TIE fighters, Imperial blockades, and even a close call in which the ship and its crew barely managed to escape from Darth Vader and his TIE Advanced. In Imperial Assault, Chopper's aptitude with electronics—as well as his sour attitude—are well-represented by his System Shock ability, which ensures that he'll play as integral a role in your campaign and skirmish games as he does in the Star Wars Rebels television series.

Of course, the droid's not the only character to arrive to Imperial Assault in the Hera Syndulla and C1-10P Ally Pack. You also have Hera Syndulla , the owner and pilot of the Ghost. She's the heart and soul of the Spectres, and she offers your Rebels plenty of leadership in Imperial Assault, too.

Preview the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack for Imperial Assault

Almost no one knows what Jawas look like beneath their hooded brown robes—not even on Tatooine, where nearly everyone knows them by reputation. They are junk droid scavengers and merchants, and they traverse the desert planet in their massive, treaded sandcrawlers, hawking their wares to moisture farmers with few other options.

Not quite hostile, these Jawas aren't truly friendly, either. Because their droids are often hastily refurbished, they push to strike their bargains quickly. Then they roll away in their sandcrawlers before the droids have a chance to malfunction.

It's this combination of mystery, haggling, and droid-focused trickery that you'll find brought to life by the figure, missions, and cards in the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack for Imperial Assault.

A Clever Desert Scavenger

Adding to the Jawa Scavenger's mystique is the fact that there are three different Deployment cards in the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack—one non-elite Jawa Scavenger and two versions of the elite Jawa Scavenger. Just what the Jawa Scavenger does, then, depends largely on if you're fielding the non-elite version or the elite version, and whether you're using it in your campaign or in a skirmish game.

There are, nonetheless, a number of similarities that run across all the different versions. No matter which version of the Jawa Scavenger you field, you'll gain a ranged attack of two yellow dice, defense of one white die, and the Take Cover ability, which allows you to duck behind whatever junk is nearest you, gaining one block ( ) at the cost of one evade ( ).

Additionally, each Jawa Scavenger comes with a built-in accuracy boost, a surge result worth two damage, and another surge worth two more points of accuracy. These additions make the Jawa Scavenger a solid and cost-effective participant in any of your fights, whether in the campaign or the skirmish game.

Their low deployment costs also make it easy to field a whole cluster of them. When you consider that Jawas have been known to work for Jabba the Hutt, you can easily imagine a pack of Jawas all scurrying about during a gunfight, focused with green and yellow dice flying everywhere.

Finally, each of the different Jawa Scavengers units comes with its own version of a colorful surge ability that allows you to pursue other ends in combat than raw damage. And both of the elite Scavengers provide you a means to get more from your droids.

Forceful Negotiations

As befits a scavenger and merchant, each of the Jawa Scavengers comes with a surge ability that adds value to the Jawa's attack beyond its raw damage output.

The non-elite Jawa Scavenger deals its target a point of strain so long as its ion blaster finds its mark.
The campaign version of the elite Jawa Scavenger can, instead, spend its surge to Haggle. For the cost of the surge and one point of threat, the Scavenger can roll a green die and earn you a point of threat for each result you roll. The odds are that you'll at least break even, and you've got a fifty-fifty shot at earning an extra point of threat.
The skirmish version of the elite Jawa Scavenger does something similar, but would rather Bargain than Haggle. To Bargain, your Scavenger spends its surge and a Victory Point to roll one green die. Then, you gain one Victory Point for each you roll.

What's more, the elite Jawa Scavengers don't just earn you threat and Victory Points; they add immediate value to all your droids.

In the campaign game, your elite Jawa Scavengers are excellent Motivators. You can bring them into your campaign with the Salvage Operatives mission, and their jury-rigged and reconfigured Droids can then head to battle with additional speed and accuracy. Then you could use your Jawas to pit the heroes against Probe Droids that can race around, overcoming their slow speed, and sniping the heroes at long distances, only to duck back behind a safe corner.

In the skirmish game, the elite Jawa Scavenger allows you to bolster your army with up to three Droid groups from any affiliation. You can even field reprogrammed Imperial and Rebel droids side-by-side, and who wouldn't be curious to see what you could do with C-3PO in your army to focus IG-88 and your elite Probe Droids ?

Or in what might be one of the more amusing twists of fate, you could field two elite Jawa Scavengers to see what would happen if you ran R2-D2 and C-3PO alongside BT-1 and 0-0-0 . The look-alike droid duos could scarcely be more different in the ways they labor, their loyalty, and their considerations of carbon-based lifeforms. But some Jawa tinkering and restraining bolts could bring them together as an interesting, and cost-effective cast of versatile combatants.

Focused on the Kill

Notably, there's more for your skirmish games in the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack than just its Jawa. The pack also introduces a new skirmish upgrade specific to IG-88 that makes the assassin droid even deadlier.

Focused on the Kill is a free skirmish ugprade that trades away IG-88's ability to repair himself for a five-point boost to his health, plus a trio of other enhancements. It focuses IG-88 before each of his attacks, it grants him a "Pierce 1" surge ability, and allows him two points of movement at the beginning of each of his activations, freeing up more actions for attacking.

This extra movement becomes even more valuable when you partner it with the new command card, Navigation Upgrade . A command card that effectively becomes a Deployment card once you draw it, Navigation Upgrade can lend a timely boost to any droid in your squad. There are bound to be times that if you use it to boost IG-88's free movement from two points to three, you'll be able to move the fearsome bounty hunter just far enough around a corner that he can fell even some of the most powerful opponents before they return fire.

And since these upgrade and command cards come in the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack, your Jawa Scavengers—as members of the Mercenary faction—might coordinate their raids with the wishes of Jabba the Hutt . It's easy to imagine a pack of Jawas all spending their surges on the round you play Utinni! to gain the Victory Points that you can later spend with Jabba, using his Order Hit ability to send IG-88 after a rival.

The Best Bargains for Your Droids

Since all you can see under their cowls are their beady, glowing yellow eyes, you'll never really know what the Jawas are thinking. But the odds are it has something to do with droids. That's why the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack, its Jawa Scavenger figure, its missions, and its cards all add new dimensions to the droid groups you field in Imperial Assault.

Announcing Three New Figure Packs for Imperial Assault

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce three new figure packs for Imperial Assault:

BT-1 and 0-0-0 Villain Pack

Across the Star Wars galaxy, droids fill every imaginable role. They serve food in restaurants, they deliver messages, they aid with diplomacy, they pilot starships, and sometimes, they take their place on the battlefield as medics, scouts, or combatants. Now, in the newest set of expansions for Imperial Assault, your droids will play a larger role than ever before.

Within these three expansions, you’ll find some very different figures, but each one helps to enhance the droids of its faction. You may fight for the Galactic Empire with the sadistic protocol droid 0-0-0 and his explosive astromech companion, BT-1. In the furthest reaches of the Outer Rim, you may choose to support your fellow Mercenaries with a Jawa Scavenger. Or, you may kindle the fire of hope and rebellion with Hera Syndulla and her astromech droid, C1-10P—better known as “Chopper.”

The BT-1 and 0-0-0 Villain Pack, the Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack, and the Hera Syndulla and C1-10P Ally Pack aren’t directly connected to any other Imperial Assault products, meaning that these characters enter the game for the first time in these expansions. Like previous Ally Packs and Villain Packs, however, these expansions offer detailed, sculpted plastic figures and new missions for your campaign and skirmish games. Finally, you’ll find an array of Deployment cards, Command cards, and Agenda cards designed to expand your options and increase the power of your droids!

BT-1 and 0-0-0 Villain Pack

First introduced in the Darth Vader comics, BT-1 and 0-0-0 serve the interests of the Galactic Empire with a special relish for destruction. 0-0-0 is a protocol droid specially equipped to interrogate and eliminate captives, while BT-1 possesses enough hidden firepower to destroy an entire squad of enemy soldiers. With their unique skills, you’ll be able to field these two droids in any Imperial strike team with the release of the BT-1 and 0-0-0 Villain Pack.

No matter where your Imperial Assault campaigns take you in the Star Wars galaxy, the Rebel heroes will have reason to fear to glowing red displays of BT-1 and 0-0-0. A new campaign Agenda mission challenges the heroes to rescue prisoners from an Imperial interrogation facility on Kessel—but if you fail to rescue the captives, you’ll face BT-1 and 0-0-0 as villains throughout the rest of your campaign.

Your skirmish games aren’t forgotten in this Villain Pack, either. You’ll find a new skirmish map with two unique missions, giving you the opportunity to battle through the twisted corridors of the Tarkin Initiative Labs. Five new Command cards are also added to your arsenal, many of which make your droids even stronger—such as Shared Experience, which focuses your Droids and Vehicles and returns to your hand whenever a Droid or Vehicle is defeated.

Jawa Scavenger Villain Pack

Droids are common throughout the galaxy, but to the Jawas of Tatooine, they’re something special. Once taken as salvage, droids can be broken apart for parts, rebuilt and sold, or even incorporated into the Jawa’s scavenging operation. As the Jawa Scavengers join the galaxy’s Mercenaries in this Villain Pack, you’ll also find ways to improve the droids fighting by your side.

This Villain Pack offers a single Jawa Scavenger figure, alongside all the Deployment cards you need to field normal or elite versions in your campaign or skirmish games. Your campaigns may take you to the wastes of Tatooine as you interfere with a Jawa salvage operation. Dispersing the Jawas may let you recover vital data, but if the Imperial player wins this mission, he receives Mechanical Salvage —allowing him to bring droids into play for a significantly reduced cost.

A Jawa Scavenger can also be recruited into your skirmish team, especially if you’re fighting in the new Mos Eisley Back Alleys map included in this figure pack. Not only do Jawa Scavengers provide a cheap way to gain more figures and activations, they also dramatically expand your options by letting you include Droids from other affiliations in your strike team. Whether you’re trawling the Jundland Wastes for salvage or headed elsewhere in the galaxy, a few Jawa Scavengers would rarely go amiss in your team.

Hera Syndulla and C1-10P Ally Pack

Though 0-0-0 and BT-1 serve the malicious purposes of the Galactic Empire and Jawa Scavengers are only looking to make a profit, some beings in the galaxy fight for a cause larger than themselves. Hera Syndulla and her loyal astromech C1-10P are stoking the fires of resistance in a galaxy that’s choking under the heel of the Empire. With the Hera Syndulla and C1-10P Ally Pack, you can bring the will to rebel into your games of Imperial Assault.

In your campaigns, Hera may lead you to Tatooine in a desperate attempt to rescue Chopper from Imperial imprisonment. In any mission, Hera can quickly prove herself as an adept leader, calling the shots to keep your entire strike team on point. Chopper is also more than capable of handling himself in battle, using a variety of tricks and tools to knock your enemies back and keep you on top of any engagement.

Your skirmish games also benefit from this new Ally Pack. You’ll find a new skirmish map—Chopper Base, Atollon—that features two unique missions. You can even customize your Droids or Vehicles by strapping on some Scavenged Weaponry. This skirmish upgrade adds one damage to any attack, but more importantly, you can redeploy it to another unit if its current host is defeated. By passing the weaponry around, you may overpower your foes by sheer damage output over the course of the mission.

Technological Threat

Three new figure packs are coming to your games of Imperial Assault, and your droids are about to become much more dangerous. Look for these new expansions at your local retailer in the second quarter of 2017!
