Red November Revised Edition introduces a larger game board, convenient item cards, and streamlined rules. These few simple enhancements provide players with an even better playing experience, while featuring the best aspects of the original Red November. With more room, accessibility, and rule clarifications, players are sure to enjoy every catastrophe Red November Revised Edition will throw their way.

Tick, tock, tick, tock

In Red November Revised Edition, 1-8 players face nightmares enough for any gnome: fire, floods, missile strikes, and nuclear meltdowns. Control desperate gnome sailors as they struggle against the clock, and work together to complete tasks as efficiently as possible. Rescue might not come soon enough.

Red November Revised Edition features a unique time track mechanic that counts down to “Rescued!” as your gnomes move around the ship, halting calamity, and preparing for the next problem. As your move your gnomes from room to room they can collect supplies to aid them...including grog.

On this submarine drinking on the job is a necessity. The Red November can be lost through a multitude of ways, and the chances of saving your gnomes are slim. Providing your gnomes with grog gains them courage to fight on during their tasks, but make sure your sailors don’t get so drunk they pass out and perish!

With optional rules to adjust the difficulty of play, create paranoia, and try solo play, you can enjoy a variety of different challenges in Red November Revised Edition. Can you balance your time, act fast, and choose the most pressing disaster to fix?

But how do you keep your head when room eight is flooded, rooms two and six are on fire, and the oxygen pumps are about to blow?

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the revised edition of Red November! Red November is a cooperative board game for 3-8 players (1-2 with optional rules) in which players control desperate sailors in a frantic race against the clock, attempting to survive by fixing disaster after disaster until they are rescued.

A Larger Board, Streamlined Rules, and More

The revised edition of Red November retains the best aspects of the original Red November, while introducing a larger game board, Item cards, and clarified rules.

The larger game board allows a greater number of players more room and accessibility. The previous Item tokens have been transformed into Item cards, providing an easier handling experience, and eliminating the necessity to check reference sheets during turns. The modified rules (pdf, 1.6MB) provide players with a streamlined guide to play, and are available for download on the support page.

The Constant Threat

Any of the ten numbered rooms on the Red November can be the current or future site of a fire, flood, or malfunctioning critical system. The gnomish sailors you control race to halt the most pressing potential calamity, leaving the remaining multitude of dangers for their next turn. Is luck on your side? Unfortunately, time never is. After every turn Events cards are drawn, correlating to the amount of time used during that turn, the more time spent the larger the amount of Event cards drawn, increasing the amount of pending threats.

It’s no surprise that sometimes terrified gnomes will need to drink grog to gain the courage to fight on. But to make sure these drunk sailors can still save the day they must perform sobriety tests during their turns. The more grog ingested, the more danger a gnome is in of passing out from drunkenness, missing out on the frantic fun, and risking death if he is trapped in a flooded room or a room on fire.

Your gnomes are hardy fighters despite their slim chances. Keep them fighting until the board’s time track counts down “Rescued!” and you stand a chance. To be rescued from the Red November, every gnome must reach the rescued space and have all pending events resolved. Drink up and brave on, just until help arrives.

The gnomish submarine known as the Red November is in dire straights. Leaks, fires, and engine failure are only a few of the troubles the gnome crew faces. Only through cooperation and frantic, makeshift repairs can the gnomes hope to survive until help arrives.

Red November is a cooperative board game of submarine survival. Players take on the roles of gnomes, forced to scramble around their sinking ship trying desperately to fix leaks, put out fires, and repair the engines. A unique time-keeping system keeps players on their toes, planning their actions carefully so they don’t waste time.

While the rules for Red November haven't changed, the new rulebook addresses FAQs and clarifies rules of play through added examples. You'd better read quickly... the Kraken is outside, and he looks hungry.

Desperate times have fallen upon the Red November!

The engine is down, the hull pressure is getting dangerously high, and the engine room is on fire! It is Geoff’s turn. Someone needs to get that fire out so the engine can be repaired. Geoff decides that’s gotta be him. Movement.

Geoff’s gnome is across the sub in Missile Control, room 7. To room 5.

Room 5 is flooded with high water, but luckily Missile Control is not flooded at all. The gnome opens the hatch to room 5 (+1m), and water reflows between the two rooms, bringing them both to low water (no additional time). Geoff moves his gnome into room 5, but because of the flooding this movement takes an additional minute (+1m). To room 2.

The Pump Room, room 2, is also on fire, and the door to room 4 is blocked. So Geoff’s gnome drinks the last of his Grog for courage (no additional time), raises his intoxication level by 1 (from 2 to 3), opens the hatch to room 2 (+1m), and steps in (no additional time). To room 1.

The gnome can’t stay to deal with this fire, so he runs across the room and opens the hatch to the engine room, room 1 (+1m), and steps in (no additional time). Action.

With his gnome in a room that is on fire, Geoff chooses the only action available (which is what he wants to do anyway), Extinguish Fire. It is critically important that the fire be put out so that Larry’s gnome (who will act next) can try to fix the engine before all is lost. To guarantee success in fighting the fire, Geoff chooses to have his gnome spend 7 minutes (+7m) doing so. Fortified by the Grog consumed earlier, which gives a bonus of +3 to any Fix-it action, the total he must roll equal to or less than on the action die is 10. Automatic success! Geoff removes the Fire token from room 1. Faint Check.

The intoxication level of Geoff’s gnome is dangerously high – quaffing his Grog this turn raised it to 3. Anything but a “4” or “–” result on his Faint Check will cause his gnome to pass out. He draws an Event Card and checks the corner. Drat! The number is a “2.” His gnome passes out in the room (+10m). Geoff lays his gnome on its side to show that it is fainted. Update Time Track.

Geoff’s gnome spent 21 minutes during his turn (4 minutes moving, 7 minutes fire-fight- ing, and 10 minutes passed out on the floor of the engine room). Geoff started his turn with his Time Keeper at 40 on the Time Track, and now the Ghost Time Keeper is at 19. Geoff moves his Time Keeper forward, stopping for 7 Event Markers and 2 Draw Item Markers, and therefore drawing and resolving 7 event cards and draw- ing 2 item tiles, respectively. If any of the events cause Geoff’s room to flood or catch fire, his gnome will die and he will be eliminated.
