Build, defend, and rise through the ranks of the Night’s Watch in A Game of Thrones Catan: Brotherhood of the Watch, a new strategy game based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series! In this game designed by Klaus and Benjamin Tueber, the same minds that brought you Catan, two to four players must harvest resources to improve the failing infrastructure of the Gift and guard the Wall from the wildlings seeking to invade Westeros.
Players race to gain renown by building roads, keeps, and settlements; hiring guards; and buying Development Cards. All the while, you must also protect the wall from the Wildlings, sneaky Climbers, and fearsome Giants. If you fail in your mission to defend the Realm, the North will be overrun and the Watch will fall. But if you succeed, you may rise above your brothers to become the new Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch!

A Game of Thrones Catan: Brotherhood of the Watch immerses players in the world of Westeros with a beautifully crafted board and components. This game lets players explore beyond the Catan they know with the inclusion of the area known as the Frostfangs north of the Wall. Nothing grows in this harsh land of ice and snow. Instead, it is the home of three wildlings clans. As danger begins to stir, the brothers of the Night’s Watch must balance their resources to ensure not only that the Gift is maintained, but that the Wall is properly defended.
Players can call upon the famous brothers of the Night’s Watch to aide them in their mission, including Othell Yarwyck, Bowen Marsh, Samwell Tarly, and Joer Mormont. These heroes give players special abilities that introduce a new layer of strategy as they strive to rise above their rivals. However, any action that brings a player closer to victory also attracts the attentions of the Wildings. Each time that a play commits an action that would earn them a victory point, a Wilding is revealed in the north and the horde begins their march towards the Wall.

In A Game of Thrones Catan: Brotherhood of the Watch, players battle against the environment, Wildings, and each other to become the leader of the Night’s Watch. Players must strategize not only how to build roads, keeps, and settlements, but how to prevent their rivals from doing the same. Alliances are routinely forged and broken, resources are traded, roads are blocked, and Development Cards are enacted to create a thrilling game experience where you are never quite sure who you can trust. But amidst all the loyalties and betrayals, greater dangers stir in the North and players must unite. For when the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.
Unlike Previous versions of Catan, A Game of Thrones Catan: Brotherhood of the Watch offers two types of victory. To achieve True Victory, a player must gain ten victory point by building within the Gift and buying Development cards. However, even if a player accomplishes this, they must still advance the Wildlings toward the wall. If this advance causes a third breach, or for the number of wildlings in the gift to exceed seven, the brothers must choose their new Lord Commander immediately. In this alternate victory, the time for building has passed, and the player who has proven himself as a leader by controlling the most guards on the Wall wins.
