The Root of Evil
Tasked by Elrond to locate the source of the Orcish activity in the Misty Mountains, the heroes of Middle-earth have traveled for months through the mountain passes and through the dark, abandoned mines of Moria. Now, in Shadow and Flame , the heroes arrive at the root of the Misty Mountains’ evil…much to their horror.
Shadow and Flame pits the heroes of Middle-earth against Durin’s Bane ( Shadow and Flame , 150) in an epic fight for survival. Durin’s Bane is a Balrog, the demon that awoke when the Dwarves delved too deep and drove them out of their ancestral home, and the monster presses the attack against your heroes from the game’s very outset!
Players will have their hands more than full with the Balrog, a host of Orcs emboldened by the demon, and the various treacheries that accompany a battle against one of Middle-earth’s most powerful foes. Still, there’s no turning back. Surrounded by enemies on all sides, your heroes’ only hope is to drive the demon back into the pit from whence it came. Only then can they flee the unrelenting Orcs and deliver their report to Rivendell.
