“You don't know what you're asking, Jon. The Night’s Watch is a sworn brotherhood. We have no families. None of us will ever father sons. Our wife is duty. Our mistress is honor.”
–Benjen Stark, A Game of Thrones

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the upcoming release of A Harsh Mistress , the fourth Chapter Pack in the Beyond the Narrow Sea cycle for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game !

From the wintry north to the Free Cities of Essos, duty demands harsh sacrifices of those men and women who live in service to the Great Houses of Westeros. The 60 new cards (3 copies each of 20 different cards) in A Harsh Mistress allow players to relay commands to their characters and to impose harsh duties upon their opponents. Unique locations, characters, and powerful attachments fill this Chapter Pack, along with two new plots that continue to the develop the game’s focus on its unique personalities.

Driven by honor

In George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire , the knights and lords who strive to live honorably often find themselves conflicted. The honorable path is seldom the easiest and often forces its advocates into difficult decisions. Many times, Martin’s characters have turned from the safer and more practical course of action and thrown themselves knowingly into harm’s way in order to fulfill a debt of honor. Still, some honorable men manage to profit from their reputations. The Starks held the north with the love of their subjects, not through fear, and men like Lord Beric Dondarrion and Ser Barristan Selmy inspired those around them. Men who lived honorably often died before their time, betrayed by their duties, but while they lived, they made those around them better.

These strong and notable personalities also make your decks stronger with Men of Honor ( A Harsh Mistress , 79), one of the two new plots in A Harsh Mistress . While there’s no shortage of unique characters with renown, few of them are the low-cost characters players build into their decks to ensure strong set-up draws. Men of Honor allows your strongest nobles to rally supporting characters like Brown Ben Plumm ( Core Set , 118) and Gilly ( Refugees of War , 98) to gain renown and join your rush for power. The plot allows you to make excellent use of any character like Daenerys Targaryen ( Queen of Dragons , 22) and The Blackfish ( Lords of Winter , 22). Under their leadership, your characters can join a united challenge, without kneeling, and claim renown en masse .
