UFS In-house Beatdown!
One of the interesting things about FFG's recent deals to take over publishing the Universal Fighting System is getting FFG employees familiar with this awesome game. Of course, a little friendly competition never hurt anyone…
The Fantasy Flight Games lunchroom will be hosting an intense series of fights between 16 of our employees for their first-ever UFS League Draft. The Beatdown is a series of mini-tournaments that occur every week. To start off, everyone will use one of the two most recent starter sets as well as five packs from any currently legal set to reign for company supremacy. We will sit down and booster draft with the five packs selected.
Mini-Tournaments:
Each week we will have a 3 round tournament. Most tournaments will follow a set theme (for instance...Higher Caliber tourney, Darkstalkers, Cutting Edge, etc.). We will ante one pack of the themed set to the prize pool. For those of us who know we will win, we can ante an additional pack. At the end of the tournament, the playing field will be split into an upper half of the bracket and a lower half of the bracket. The upper half will open all the packs they selected as well as any additional packs thrown into the pool. Then, the cards will be drafted by those players. The lower half will still open and draft they packs they ante'd, just not the additional packs. Using the league kits as additional prizes, the card for the week will be handed out to participants and may be used for their match if chosen to do so. Players may trade twice with their opponents, one for one, after their match.
