Sauron

The second expansion for The Lord of the Rings board game adds a whole new dimension to the game play. With the Sauron expansion, the fellowship of Hobbits are no longer competing solely against the game and its boards. In Sauron one player takes on the role of the dark lord and seeks to thwart the fellowship's crucial mission.

The dark figure of a black rider joins the eye of Sauron on the master board, racing towards the fellowship with the help of new cards that are the domain of the dark lord alone. Now when the fellowship discusses plans of how to pass the next board or event and compare resources, the dark lord is listening, and using that knowledge against them.

As with the main game and the Friends & Foes expansion, Sauron is designed by master game designer Reiner Knizia.

Friends & Foes

Friends & Foes provides two completely new Scenario boards, Bree and Isengard, as well as 21 new Feature cards. Find new friends to help you conquer the challenges ahead: Tom Bombadil, Glorfindel, Treebeard, Strider and many more.

In addition, this Expansion introduces 30 dark Foes ready to bedevil your journey. Face the evil Spiders of Mirkwood, Orcs of the Red Eye, Cave-trolls, Wolf Riders and Barrow Wights - to name but a few of your new adversaries.

Friends & Foes adds a whole new dimension to the gameplay, giving you more choices, but making your task no less difficult or perilous. This expansion will truly enhance your experience of taking part in the extraordinary board game interpretation of J. R. R. Tolkien's great novel.
