This thread was not sticked but has an official ruling dealing with cards from Set 1, specifically doubling worlds.

I have been wondering does magic friends count as magic damage since they are magic. Sorry about the questions above this one I did that by accident.

No. Magic/Friend cards are magic cards in every zone except in play. While they are in play, they are Friends.

I have a basic rules question I never saw clarified. Can you challenge with more than one basic friend card, or only one? What about for battle phase?

If I think of anymore questions I'll be back. Thanks.

In a battle, you use as many friends as you want.

In a challenge, you have 1 of 4 options:
1) Use ONE friend to add to your attack.
2) Use ONE magic card.
3) Use attack cards.
4) Do nothing.

So you do one of those 4 options, then it's your opponents turn. And you go back and forth until you both consecutively pass. So yes you can use more than 1 friend.

he can play 2.

the top world level indicates the number of heartless you are able to currently have on that world (ex. two on Traverse Town lvl2)

the total world number (all the world #'s added up) is the highest level heartless you can play at all (ex. your opponents World count is 4, the highest level heartless you can play is lvl4 heartless)

Ok, does that mean in that scenario you can play two heartless BOTH level 4? Or two heartless whose combined total cannot exceed level 4?

Another somewhat related question I had concerning Guard Armor:
Say my opponents top world level is 2, and the combined levels are 8. Could I play my Bouncywild (Level 1) and then, play the level 7 Guard Armor (Body) and with its effect, play the other two pieces from my hand, counting as one heartless at the time?

New question!

Can I play dark cards (heartless or villain) on my own world?
the rules in the booklet state:
Dark Cards represent the heartloess and various villain hindering plater cards during the game. When playing a dark card, a player places it on top of his/her opponent's world card. While dark cards are on a player's world card, he/she cannot move.

It does say that you are to place them on your opponent's world, but no where does it say you can't place them on your own, I don't see why not. Can someone please clarify if I can or cannot play them on my world?

thanks

Your question is answered in the section of the rulebook you quoted man. You've posted this in 2 different forums. I don't really understand where your confusion is coming from. It says plain as day that when playing a dark card you place it on your opponent's world. If your only logic for playing them on your opponent's world is that the rulebook does not specifically forbid it, your entire argument is flawed. The rulebook does not specifically say I can't play heartless to my friend area either. Heck, it doesn't even say I can't play them from my deck or discard pile. You have to play based on what the rulebook says you can do, not on what it doesn't say you can't do.

Wow, my last sentence is a triple negative! (I think...not, doesn't, can't) That can't be good grammar, but I can't think of any other way to state it.

he's right. one cannot play a game based on the "you didn't say i couldn't" logic, or else i'd move my heart point counter up to 20 each turn just because the rulebook doesn't specifically say i can't do that.

that, and playing Dark Cards on your own world could easily become broken as heck.
