I'd like to know that, too. I had that ruling specifically "greyed-out" to denote the responses from FFG staff saying. However, it's been "un-greyed" now.

I'm getting as confused as everyone else here. Maybe Nick simply removed it and forgot to put the grey back in?

Axel, the answer is no. It says do damage to ONE dark card, so any extra damage is wasted. Magic is the only card to do this, which makes it the black sheep in the bunch.

So we can now use magic to boost our attack during a challenge? I mean I understand that it was done in the japanese version, but the english cards say only damage to dark cards, so I thought the ruling was that it can only do damage. Now I'm confused.

FFG, can you now use magic cards to boost your attack in a challenge?

I would really like to know this, because I am really confused. Has this been answered? The two answers next to each other seem to say that magic cards can and can't be used in a challenge. Which is it?

Given the recent update, perhaps the first post in the topic should be updated?

I updated the first post earlier today. I corrected some conventions, and moved one or two entries around. If there are any other particular things that need to be added, please suggest them.

On another note...

Reading the new article by FF Nick on the main Kingdom Hearts page, it looks like some cards that we will be getting will be somewhat different from their Japanese counterparts. Case in point, "100-Acre Wood."

Yeah, I noticed that. I'm unsure on what to make of it right now....

I suppose if Peter Pan's bouncing effect is still the same, it'll work out great.

Time will tell.... either way, it was a good article.

Well, if you really think about it, 100-AW is banned in Japan, so it needed an additional effect. It's strong now, with the hand-obliteration effect, but still limited to 1 per deck.

Also, Peter Pan doesn't have a bouncing effect -- he simply negates the effects of Heartless during Battle. Unless you were referring to Hercules?

Aw, shucks. I bet you're only saying that 'cause it's true.

Yes, Hercules is the one I meant, sorry. I feel a bit silly now ^_^

Aye, that's true, I suppose having a direct translation of an already-banned card wouldn't be too smart. It's still, as you said, a powerful effect though.

Haha, you got me, that's the only reason

Q: During a Challenge, are the effects of Heartless in play, such as "Sea Neon" (No player can play Attack Cards), applied?
A: Yes. Even during a Challenge, the effects of Heartless in play are applied.

this came up at a tournament, and i would like it 100% verivied.

the cards "Sea Neon" and "Wizard" have on their effect text:
"No player can use ____ cards at any time."

Now, I have played this exactly as the text says, that as long as these cards are on either players world card neither player can play Magic/Attack cards at any time, Battling Heartless or whenever.

However, a discussion came up where someone said this was untrue. They said that this effect only effected both players during the challenge, but otherwise it only effects the player whose world it occupies. He defended this with the rule that a challenge is played on the defenders world, saying that a player is completely isolated from the opposing players mat/world/heartless effects until you "invade" your opponents world or "are invaded" by your opponents player, in which case all the "ailments" that are effecting your opponent are now also effecting you.

Now, we all believed him to be incorrect, as the card clearly states "No player...at any time.", yet he stuck with his interpretation of the ruling and it eventually disolved itself to the point that the game went on.

Please confirm this for me.

devil monkey, i would have to agree with you that no matter what, no player can play said card type at any time. It is straightforward. I played Magic: the Gathering for quite a long time and have been called a "Rule Nazi"....so based on my ability to interpret rules from Magic, I would say you are correct, although if someone from FFG could verify that would be great.

this was ruled on in anouther topic and at the moment they said that since the card says no player at any time it means no player at any time not just during a challenge at that world
