I'm going through and swiching the Nelco font for Caslon Antique, since that is the common font.

I don't know how to imbed the fonts into the PDF, that's why its punking out on that "box". The entire thing is created in Word 2007 and then converted with ClickBooks to the PDF in the book format you see.

I am open to suggestions and have even started a race specific version. Please elaborate on what you would like to see.

The thing I am trying to keep consistant is the middle pages which open to the profile, weapons and combat summary stuff so that it lays flat, which I think is what you refer to the most.

Its what Id change if I was inclined to do these sort of things (or at least had the time)

-Id like some kind of border on the front page. In general Id like more 'parchment' like boxes and
borders/dividers throughout.

-Cant say anything about the order of pages, I assume this is in 'pre-folding' format.
I just take things as they come on the PDF.

-Character Personal Details.
Drop the 'dots' for Race and Gender. Just make a box where you can write. Just takes up unneccessary
space to have unchecked stats. Otherwise fine.

-Family Details.
Fine.

-Tzeentchs Curse.
Id drop this, maybe include it in a 'GM Party Info' or similar. This is not 'general' character knowledge,
but meta knowledge (ie perhaps the player knows).

-Spell Grim.
Id make two folios, one for spellcasters and one for non-spell caster. I would not want to have
a 'grimoire' section for my Beggar Halfling (Folios is all about THAT character).

-Friends and Allies & Enemies and Rivals.
Just make these 'general' NPC descriptions. The 'Notes' box can describe the relationship between
Character and NPC. Given WFRPs shades of grey, NPCs can be very hard to place in either section, or
can shift between them as play progress.

-Trappings.
OK as is.

-Creatures, Companions etc.
OK as is.

-Scars on Mind and Body
OK as is.

-Talents
I never like pre printed skills and talents. Just lot of useless space as you probably wont have the
majority of them. Just make them blank lines where you can note the talents yourself. Make a column
for descriptions.

-Mutations.
Why have a separate section for Mutations. Can players assume they will get a mutation eventually?
Increase space for 'scars of mind and body' and drop this section.

-Great men I have slain.
Those players who keep track of this can manage this in a genera 'notes' or 'Events during Adventuring'
section. (I once had a Knight in AD&D who hired Minstrel to accompany him and making ballads out of
his deeds. He turned out to be a tenderfoot. He got grumpy for sleeping too much under the sky and
eating too many Iron rations, so the ballads turned a bit 'Great Sir Robin' if you know what I mean).

-Skills.
Same as Talents. Drop the preprinted skills. Just a lot of empty space in the end.

-Damaged Armour
Cant this fit in a general 'notes' section for the Armour. Save space for other things.

-Careers.
Next Career, several carrers a bit unneccesary. If you want this, just make it one career box. I find that
when players want to know what Talents/Skills an potential 'next' career has, they have allready
decided for that career.

-Character Profile.
Advances taken. Just make box where you can write '+20'. Makes things clearer and looks better.
Weapons. Why make every row a potential ranged weapon? Melee weapons get a bit crowded.
Ammo. Drop the dots, this will just wear out paper. Blank space where you can writ down ammo is
better.

-Combat Action Summary.
If on wants these, and I can see that they are useful, why not put them on a separate sheet. Perhaps
with the complete skill description. A 'Players Screen' so to speak. Having it in the Folio will only mean
more wear on the Folio as people are constantly flipping through it.

I used to be the GM when I started creating this and since then I have become a player and really started to get a feel for what I like/don't, what needs more/less space.

I know I can't make "the perfect" PC record that will meet everyone needs.

I hope I don't sound defensive about this.

One of my main goals (and still is) is to limit the amount of writing you have to do.
For two reasons:

1) Not everyone took drafting in high school in the late 70's (hand raised) and had to learn to letter in legible manner on paper with a pencil.

2) As a GM, I prefer consistancy in record keeping and a check box is much easier to mark than a line that they fill-in which goes back to #1.

I will consider your (LOTP) suggestions and any others and try to implement those that I can.

I do like the idea of a Spell Caster and a Non-Spell Caster versions, which will free up space for FEROZ & TOR's suggestions.

Unfortunatley in our game, our GM is not opposed to giving you a mutation if the situation fits and the only way of avoiding it expending a FP. Thankfully this doesn't happen a lot... I spent a FP to avoid going Ghoul (his version, tough, "Chief-like").

Creating a parchment look on the pages is something I need to figure out how to do.

I'll get to work and see what I can come up with, in the mean time I will get it updated so there are boxes and not "e" and send that to Chuck.

Why not using individual sheets and putting them in a binder in the order you prefer?

Not every Human is a wizard (and therefore needs the wizard section) and some some need more room for the "I slayed all these nasty beasts" entries than others.

So, having a common cover and skill section, you can select the sheets you need for your character; be it grudge records or a spellbook.

Some ideas from top of my head:

- Wizard (grimoire, rituals, arcane marks, college status, Tzeentch's Curses)
- Priest (religion, religious order, cult status, visions, prayers (spells), divine marks)
- Dwarf (as mentioned above)
- Elf (I have no idea what exactly should be in there, but someone probably would)
- Halfling (the recipes idea is just too funny)
- Bounty/Witch Hunter (wanted posters, collected bounties, burnt heretics and so on).

A nice addition to the general part of the folio would be Reputation.

Now, I realize how much work all this is going to take...

I didn't go with the modular idea because someone else was already doing that, I am sorry that I don't recall their name. IIRC, They had an insert page for things like a horse/mount, so, if you lost your horse then you pull that page. I like the idea but in looking for ways to keep the stuff in place, it wasn't going to be cheap.

Printing tip: Download Nelco Symbols if you don't have it (until I can get it updated), Print to landscaped Legal size paper, duplexed. Fold the pages in half and put it together with Profile in the middle. If you view the PDF, the cover is at the top with each page going inside.
Personal info, Careers at the front.
Skills/Talents, Trappings, Grimorie & Tzeentch's at the back.

I'll number the pages when I update it.

For the next big update I'm concentrating on a Spell Caster & Non-Spell Caster versions. That way the Grimorie and Tz's Curse pages can be used for general Character stuff: Book of Grudges; Recipes; Bunnies, Trees and Flowers I know (Elfy stuff - I don't know either )

I'm keeping a list of suggestions and I'll see what I can do to implement as many as possible, so keep em coming and I'll get an update posted ASAP. I meant to work on it last PM but Lord Stanley's Cup was in Detroit and oh man was it a close and long game, but alas, back to Pittsburgh .

I switched the Neclo fonts for Wingdings.

I removed the Race check boxes and made it a line with "Race"

I removed "Ammo" from 3 of the 6 weapons.

Plans for the next version are:

Combine/reduce the Friends & Enemies to a smaller section, maybe one page.

I'm still tinkering with modifiying the Scars & Insanities (expanding), reducing/removing Slain Beasts sections.

I think the Mutations section could be expanded some because in ToC you become a Chaos Sapwn if your mutations exceed your TB+1D10 and then your out of the game any how.

Q: How many GM's give the PC's mutations? I tried a few times (T checks) as a GM but my players were more likely to get an insanity (and I use v.1 & LF for insanities - the v.2 CRB are to harsh for a first insanity for me). It's much more fun to have them talking to them selves, lose sleep and have bad dreams for insanities.

Another option is to combine Insanities, Mutations & Scars (which I only record those scars casued by Ctits and big hits).

... and now that I have been looking over the pages I see I adjusted a page off onto another page...

Mutations are very rare in our games, or at least if you get them its mostly bye bye anyway.

I once had a player with a mutated character that kept his character and instead made the character around his condition.

It was the mercenary Mustafa El Falafel that reciewed iron hard skin on his torso and a crab arm (from elbow down). He constantly kept amputating his arm (it grew back), and had a blacksmith grind down his iron skin (it also grew back). He turned to Ormazd (unoffical Araby god) for protection and became something like a mutated witch hunter. This version is for those that have no palns to become spell casters or a Cleric/Priest.

Please, print it, look it over. Let me know if you find any typos, spacing issues or just want to make suggestions. I know it can't meet everybodies needs but I hope it works for general non-spell/cleric use.

I'm still working on the Dwarf version. I have a Norse/Dwarf font that I may try to incorporate into the headings and other areas. I'll post it when I finish and let you all have a look at it and go from there.

On the drawing board are a Wizard and Cleric versions too.

Chuck has graciously granted me a bit of his web site for me to post my own changes and additions.

Currently I have two versions available at: http://www.tormentedscribe.windsofchaos.com/

There is "Magister" versions for those willing to take on the mantel of Wizard (or those hoping to). It should look familiar as it's very similar to the previous versions.

The second version, "Warrior", is for those who are fine not dabbling in the mystic arts and can be used for all of the races and other careers. It has the Grimorie, T's Curse and Arcane Marks taken out, converted to other uses.

I am working on "Divine" and "Dwarf" versions also.

I am waiting for my copy of Tome o' Salvation to arrive (between 9/26 - 10/13) to look it over for Divine specific stuff I might want to include. Changed the Grimoire to Prayer Book, debating about having a section to record Wrath of the Gods received/experienced. A section to record Holy days, Scarifices and other holy notes.

The Dwarf version... Has Clan & Ancestor information, a whole page for Grudges, a whole page for Deeds (good & bad) + Slain creatures and other glories. I converted the Magic section to be used with Runes Magic (just incase...).

I also posted a compiled, edited and tweaked version of Liber Fantica's three documents "Old World Sang, Thieves Tongue and Ye Dragon Tongue", set up like a dictionary. (all credited to original artists - I will pull it if they wish). It will be updated as new slang is made up or found in the books.

All are to designed to be printed on LEGAL size paper (8.5" x 14"), duplexed and folded in half and put together like a book.

I can also create the folios or the slang dictionay in other paper sizes (i.e. A4 or other) if deisred for our friends across the pond.

Let me know what you think, if you find typos, have suggestions or just want to hoist a pint for our scars (you drink to my scar, I'll drink to yours).
