Over at http://www.tannhauser-thegame.com/ there is apparently a whole new "something" coming out soon Tannhäuser Field Ops!

Loosely Translated wrote:The Flood of Fire of Frankenstahl!

We present this week to you, a complete preview, one of the cards of the next phase of Take One You: Tannhäuser Field Ops!

This first card, taken among tens of others, shows you the text and the icons some of the fundamental elements of Tannhäuser Field Ops.

To learn more and to see this same card in action, join to us in Festiludis of Saint-Marcel this weekend (May 31 and June 1) for an exclusive preview of Tannhäuser Field Ops in playable version!

The original French article can be found HERE
The French preview card can be found HERE

Here is a loosely translated version of the new card:

Hmmm...verrrry intriguing! I heard rumors of an RPG set in the Tannhauser universe, and this looks like a sample of a CCG of some sort. Of course, we probably won't see a fully translated US release until 2010....

It does look like a CCG. I don't care for CCGs so I'll stay away from it but and RPG or a full-scale miniatures skirmish game would rock! This card also looks like it could be similar to Rackham's AT-43 unit cards. ?!

When I was looking through the French Forums many moons ago I came across a thread that was talking about a card game for Tannhauser.

I think that the company will do a great job creating it. But I just don't really have an interest in card games any more. Loved them played dozens of them. Magic, Pokemon, Cyber Punk, LotR, Digimon, Yugioh, Duel Masters, L5R, Star Wars Decipher, Wars Decipher, Star War Wizards, Vampire, Magi Nation, War lord, some cowboy game, Gundum, DBZ, Anachronism and a lot more so I am kind of sick of CCG for the next decade.

I didn't get a CCG feel from the description. What I did get was cards are equipment and abilities for Token units. Like Ikarus Faith would become an actual unit as a Token with equipment and abilities listed as cards (as opposed to a Token with Token equipment and abilities).

I really don't see this as a Blind Purchase CCG. If it is a Blind Purchase it will be an complete and absolute turn off from Tannhäuser! I haven't done Blind Purchase since the mid 90's with Rage* (Okay, I did do it with Pirates of the ... but not as a game - I have never played the game - I just collected the little ships!)

* In my opinion Rage was the best balanced and entertaining CCG ever made.

I don't see CCG with this at all.

The way the card reads is much more Minis oriented to me. Terrain, Obstacles, Buildings, these are more mini game than card game to me. But time will tell, they are demoing the game this weekend!

More than likely is a minis game (of some sort) It say only one of tens of other cards, So I assume only a handful, 40-60 like most minis games.

The description sounds like something that would be off of a Mini type of game. Randomized boosters or a buy and play type game it looks like a branch of the Tannhauser board game that will have a bit more depth.

Wonder if it will be stand alone or if the 2 games can be combine some how.

Other than the possibility of the Use of Tannhauser minis in this game... MAYBE... just a guess

But the thing to keep in mind is that there are a ton of games that have terrain cards, buildings and obstacles like Mystical Empire and Allegiance.

From the French Forum: I asked what it was about

it will be a card from the TOY new game on the tannhauser universe, it's "Field OPS". It's only a card game with approximatly one hundred cards. it will not be a collective gard game as "Magic" but it's will be more as "Munchkin", they will not have booster pack.
sorry for my poor english

Yeah, its the card game. There will be another spinoff game that is a board/mini game coming to Tannhäuser that If i remeber correctly is called Cerberus and is set during the 1930´s. Although Im a bit tired so I might be mixing some details.

Cerberus is a dungeon crawler in tannhauser universe, but it's still in develloppement. It'll be (for the moment) among 60 pre-painted figurines with puzzle for maps like desent but with the path finding system.

But still in develloppement

As far as I'm concerned I'm lookig to Field Ops as a source of infos on Tannhäuser World. As it won't be a collectible game , I'll certainly buy it when it is finally out...

A team of french volunteers is actually trying to create a RPG set in Tannhäuser's universe. Take On You staff officially admit they don't have plans about creating an official Tannhäuser RPG but they support that volunteer team.

If you can read and write in french, Tannhäuser RPG project is waiting for you.

Does look interesting. I bet it plays like AT-43 confrontation those style of games.

Depending on the price I may buy it.

I am into 4 games right now 2 of them collectable.

I just hope this does not distract TOY from the main game of tannhauser.

Okay, so drop the 2 collectable games (I learned this lesson some 12 years ago ), now that is only two games. You'll have enough left over for some thirty-odd games more!

The *cough* thing *cough* under the glass-like bubble is a Warhammer 40K battle. Looks like Space Marines vs Tyranids...

I'm a poor college student who travles 24 miles a day to get to and back from school, with the price of gas I can't afford much more.

Right!

This picture was taken at the end of St-Marcel Tounament front of a warhammer 40K battle

Picture in hands will be a playable card for Tannhaüser Field's Ops.

Field's Ops will not be a collectible card game.
You buy the game and you can play with it.
Maybe some extensions will be created.

Who said I could afford it

I choose to spend what money I have on games, usually once every 6 months when I have cash a buy a few of them. I have very few other expanses other then food and rent, but on the other hand I have very few incomes.

I'll buy into the fact that the display is WH40K, but the image being held by the attendees are most definitely images of Sakho Aponi ...
