Where art thou, O Frozen Wastes?

Really. I mean we've got a Descent "ice" expansion already listed on some websites with its features and cover art, but still no hint of what Frozen Wastes will be for Runebound? How long has it been in development now? Why isn't it listed with the red diamond "in development" symbol on the upcoming page? Why haven't we seen the cover art yet? I want some solid information!

I'll second that motion! I suspect Runebound is on the back burner right now with all the new stuff FFG picked up.
But hey, Runebound is still a popular game and we're still here, so come on FFG! Throw us a bone!

Has anyone mailed FFG about this recently. I remember some one did a few months ago and they said something like "we're working on it, but won't list it until we're happy with it." I'd like to think there has been progress by now.

Yes. The old thread is called "Frozen Wastes". It had a fit of information from Thaad, but the post is from March 2.

the descent addon is already on the lists of merchants as a new article this year, thats true. but it isnt on the ffg upcoming list, just like frozen wastes.
the deck wave 3 was horrible late, so i think they wont give a time schedule for frozen wastes to prevent frustrations about not keeping the release time.

Well, the Descent: Tomb of Ice expansion is now on the upcoming page, listed as at the printer, and scheduled for September. And still no sign of Frozen Wastes any where on the list. What is going on here?

In fact, I wonder if the cover art for Tomb of Ice that we see is actually the piece we were told was painted for Frozen Wastes initially.

It is not the same art. I spoke to the artist (Jesper Ejsing) and he described the Frozen Wastes cover. It is nothing like the Tomb of Ice cover.

And I can't want to see it!!!!

I just received an e-mail from Thadd. Frozen Wastes has been sent to the printer!!!

She said they will update the upcoming page very soon.

All right! I have really high hopes for this one. It has the potential to be my favorite big box because of the setting alone.

frozen wastes was announced for end of 2007 ! now its end of 2008 and nothing onn ffg about it.

I wouldn't say it's a lie, it's just that if it isn't even on the upcoming page after having gone to the printer, the thing's got AFTERTHOUGHT written all over it. The way I figure it, we should be hearing news about the next round of "summer" expansion packs by now.

Both the new Descent and Arkham Horror (which isn't on the upcoming page either) expansions were for sale at Gencon apparently. I wonder if Frozen Wastes made an appearance as well.

Frozen Wastes was not on sale, but they did have a demo box with the art and they were previewing/demoing the game. Unfortunately I opted to playtest one of Fantasy Flight's "in development" games instead of trying out Frozen Wastes. The game I playtested was AMAZING and I can't wait for it to come out. But I did get a chance to see the Frozen Wastes board and some of the heroes (which were the same ones from Tomb of Ice, which my brother bought). Everything looks great and I can't wait to get it when it comes out!
