I was pretty bored tonight and I stumbled across this neat little thing, the HeroMacine. It seemed entertaining, so I made up a quick little mock-up of the cleric I'm going to be using in an upcoming game of Dark Heresy.

Anyone else want to give it a try? Alternatively, post other kinds of art/images/minis of your player characters. (or NPCs)

(In hindsight, I notice I'm straying dangerously close to the RPG cliche "Tenchcoat and Katana" archetype, damn Flak Jacket and monosword. )

That's the best pic on this thread so far.

That HeroMacine program is ...

A) Hot trash
B) makes ugly pictures
C) all of the above.

Amaranth Verity, Interrogator and sanctioned psyker. Sorry if the picture's a bit big, that's the size I uploaded it to deviantart.

Heromachine works, but you have to be careful and spend time making things look good. I use it for mock-ups before I do drawings or paintings like the picture above.

Feral World Guardsman.

Marv from Sin City. Character is always covered with bandaids. Rite of Passage trait in action!

He's not a "Squat", he just rolled the "squat" bodytype during character generation...

This guy isn't based on anyone in our group, but I reckon he looks cool anyhow. Some sort of high level Guard Sniper or Storm Trooper.

What lies below is an interpretation of one of my player's feral/post apocalyptic world guardsmen. He did it himself. I don't think I can rightly claim credit for this.

It captures his personality quite nicely, I think.

I LOL'd when I saw this. Awesome stuff.

Someone should start a gallery of character sheet doodles somewhere online. Nothing finished or cleaned up, just the awesomely lame illustrations of character A stabbing character B in the head with a fork, or whatever.

I thought that Hero Machine website would be awful, but with a bit of imagination, you can churn out some half-decent pictures:

If I can get him to draw up the whole group I'll be sure to post it here. Should be entertaining, given the other acolytes.

-A voidborn assassin who looks somewhat like Edward Scissorhands, save with not-quite-so mad hair.
-A voidborn sanctioned psyker with a knack for divination who frequently mutters (seemingly senseless) references in relation to current events. After much discussion we concluded he probably looks like Grand Moff Tarkin, given his military background.
- A farmboy PDF trooper. Sheltered background, regular fellow, now propelled into a universe of horror thanks to him inadvertently uncovering HERESY back home.
-A dreadlocked, vindictive and sadistic hiver arbitrator. Has kicked someone out of a third story emergency exit and puts his Fellowship score of 40 to use manipulating and intimidating people.

Those are pretty impressive! I always thought HM was slightly "meh," even if I did use it myself, but those show you can still do a lot with it.

They appear to be saving the images to photobucket (or similar website) and then linking from there.
