Yea, combat only. It made my players go: "WOA! Full Auto at Point Blank range = +50 BS!"

Next thing was that all wanted to by autopistols with manstoppers.

And that's why I would hate when players get all kinds of equipment super easy from thier Inquisitor..not to mention sucks for the combat phase..just spray Man stopper Full auto and loot the corpses.

Combat shotgun point blank semi auto burst = + 40% with scatter special rule.....*drools*

Splitting up the party before the big firefight is not a good idea...

The only way GW could make the Leman Russ more brilliant would be to tell us it was built by Jaguar.

Two things for GMs to remember about point blank sprays:

- If you're doing a Semi or Full auto burst, you generally can't move.

- Point blank is only within 3 meters. Average range on a charge action would be 9 meters.

Sure they can still use autopistols in close combat, but they lose the point blank bonus and can't parry. And burst fire into close combat by those not engaged can be a recipe for much GM mirth as they hit their own buddies with those manstoppers.

Anyhow, to me the balancer is basically that point blank burst fire is a difficult thing to achieve unless your opponents are stupid or heedless enough to move within 3 meters without also moving close enough to melee.

Or very sneaky PC's. HOlding someones attention while a second character sneaks up is a perfectly viable tactic. But even a single shotgun shot at point blank increadibly dangerous.

In that case, I heartily endorse massive amounts of damage. As a GM I try to encourage just that type of sneakiness and as a player, I employ it regularly.

In the last game I got a chance to play (well over two months ago) we had to find a person of interest in a bar without his escaping into the crowded streets or attracting the attention of cult members who were going to make sure that anyone talking to him died. I made sure I got the cultists attention and walked out the back door with another player and we set up an ambush, with him behind a dumpster and me behind the door. As a cult member walked out the door, the other player popped out with a shotgun and I put an auto-pistol up to the back of his head and told him not to move. One of them did and ended up without a head.

Sorry to post this here, but I didn't want to create an entire new thread just for one question:

Even with the Errata, I'm still not 100% sure about one very basic rule:

When Dodging or Parrying, do degrees of success come into play?

For example:

Guy A attacks Guy B with 2 degrees of success.

Guy B rolls to Dodge/Parry and gets only ONE degree of success.

Does Guy B fail to Dodge/Parry?

No. Actually, degrees of success aren't ususally important in most cases. There are exceptions, like semi/full auto, but in most cases, the important part is success or failure.

So degrees are only used in contested tests, like Awareness VS Move Silently, right?

Does anyone know if there will be an edition of the rulebook that has been properly edited to reflect all the errata, corrected grammar & spelling?

I believe the revised second printing will contain many of the changes.

Is it likely that a new Inquistor's Handbook Errata sticky will be posted?

Once I get it (and it's done) with permission I'll get it stickied for you guys, in printable form. Alas the graphic designer powers go only so far. I'll do what I can when it's ready.
