Some nice work there. Have to check my local store if they have any spare War Apes lying around (the sell D&D figures as singles), reminds me a little of the Kriegaffe (hope I remembered its name right) from Hellboy. One question though, is there any special reason for the faction and story around it to be based at castle Kzias instead of another castle?

I have been meaning to change the Castle to Castle FÃ¼rstenstein... Thank you for reminding me. The official U-Chronic universe has made much of Ksiaz since my first draft of this...

If you are referring to what I am planning for the figures I already purchased, nothing has been formalized. However, I did write up a brief outline on what I am planning HERE. Note the last paragraph of that post ... That is what I am attempting to accomplish for your expansion here, it is just difficult to find a single seller including both D&D and Star Wars figures!

The demon expansion is set to commence once I have completed all of the Token Cards. 196 cards down so far (98 English Cards/98 French Cards) and still a bunch left to go! There are a lot of tokens in this game.

I have put up the last of the Moeller's Hermetics on my blog. Jackal - a mercenary.

I am looking for feedback before I finalize the Moeller's Hermetics faction. If anyone has any comments, or has tried these guys out in a game, please let me know how that went.

If you order more figures the shipping price doesn't change at all... The lesson is that it is better to order extra than to not get that extra figure you wanted.

Quick observations, by character:

Doktor Krisztov Moeller

I think he should be german, not polish, as explained below. I like the Dr. Moreau scientist mixed with occult powers - pulpy! I find it interesting in the fluff you mention the russians, as Novgorod is on the horizon.

At first I was not keen on on the look of Moeller's D&D figure, but after reading through the equipment packs it is completely appropriate - good choice!

The equipment packs seem well thought out and creative - it would have been handy to see a brief breakdown of what items go with which pack. I'm assuming you are planning to include those in the final pdf tho.

RÃ¼stung Fallhammer

I sooo love the the look of the D&D War Apes! They are very reminicent of the friegaffe (german for "war ape", I believe) both from Hellboy and Dust.

I'm glad you outlined some A.I. (or solitaire) rules. Again, they seem very well thought out and appropriate to each character. The objective tokens (the Research Papers) are a nice scenario feature. Capturing rules (again - very quick obervation) seem clunky? looks like you are enticing players to Capture to boost VP's. It does reinforce the scenario. Is there, perhaps, a way to streamline it?

Excellent character pack. I like how game balance wise you split a single trooper into three characters by giving them a single row of attributes - excellent!

Lady FÃ¼rstenstein

Nice backstory. Tho, as a descendant of Frederick FÃ¼rstenstein, she would not be in Ksiaz castle. Ksiaz is a famous castle in poland with a looong history. I encourage you to change the location to Castle FÃ¼rstenstein, as you mentioned. This would probably make Moeller german, I would imagine.

I see you have made her into a martial artist. It brings Elektra to my mind. May I suggest (my 2 cents) a more "in Tannhauser continuity" backstory that she was trained by the mysterious Assasins Guild? I can't help think of the League Of Shadows from the Batman film, or The Shadow who was trained by tibetan monks, as precedents.

Lovers Rage may be more accurately titled "Bodyguard". The name as it stands makes me think of bad neighbours.

As far as the figure goes, it is appropriate but I wish it was less "Xena" like. There's pretty slim pickings out there tho, so it's a pretty good choice. I might be tempted to re-base a Heroclix Electra, though I have ordered the Doomgaurd for playtesting.

EDIT: Just checked out the Elektra figure online - way too crude looking. I'll continue searching.

Like the idea of the robot - again, appropriately pulpy. Good figure choice too! Along with the apes, I see this as your "second" trooper, and so the single equipment pack seems well thought out.

Jackal

Backstory is great! The garotte item seems informed by Eva's whip and Yula's token of the month? Doesn't really reflect a sneaky attack, even with the special movement rules - could it be tweaked?
The rest of the abilities seem fine, tho. "Dexterity" makes me think of D&D abilities. Maybe you could "chrome" it up a bit by giving it a name like "lightning reflex" or something.

Figure choice - aargh, you beat me to it! I had this guy all plotted out to be my new Union trooper. His uniform is even Union colored! I was going to have him be a "forward observer" that reports to President Edison - his special item: armor, plus you gain VP if he comes back alive...

As you can see most of my comments are based on the fluff. I can't really comment too much without some playtesting and I will try to, at some point.

Again, excellent job, I hope my comments help!

littlewars - Thank you for all the input. It is good to hear from others about the customs. I will set to revising these in a few weeks.

I will certainly be changing this to Castle Furstenberg as Kaisz is being used by official material.

There is no reason you can't use the same figure as Jackal for your own figure...

I have not thought out the different packs - I love to hear any ideas... It is hard enough coming up with the number of powers required...

Again, you beat me to the punch - I was working on some "pets" for our Tannhauser heroes.
I like that you are sticking to mostly D&D commons, of course.

My initial reaction was that they might be too much of a boost, but since they each take up a slot, it seems fair. As long as they function like a weapon/extension of the character it should work.
There is a bit of a precedent with the upcoming Ramirez character who gets an automated drone as his special item.
You could set up their cards like the Voivodes (Novgorod) which contain two characters, with two equipment slots:

I'm assuming they use the Jackal character's Action Phase? (Follow That Scent implies they do.)
If so, do they only one get an Action between them, or one each? (I'm assuming one Action between them.)
I'm kinda dubious about the Hunter ability that allows them to move past "blocking" characters - it seems like it might lessen some of the strategy of the game. On the other hand it could create a whole new strategic dynamic, not sure.

Thanks littlewars for the comments, they are appreciated. I am working on the card for the Hyenas and it will indeed be 2 figures on one card like the little robots.

As far as turns go, I kinda figured the 2 hyenas each got to go and so did Jackal, but that might be a bit overpowered.

Much to think about before the next Tannhauser Tuesday at Savage Tales...

If you are referring to Batman: the Animated Series, there were indeed two laughing hyenas, but it was Harley Quinn (A.K.A. Dr. Harleen Quinzel) who kept the Hyenas as pets. I can confirm this as I am currently looking at one of the series' original animation cells hanging by my computer showing Harley and her pups Bud and Lou racing past in a car! - Yes, I am spoiled. B:tAS is a personal favorite of mine. I once owned 14 original animation cells and original pre-animation sketches from the series, now down to 9 after the divorce.

Now I see the Hyenas get 1 item each - I assumed it was 2 each (ala Voivodes). This may solve some balance issues I was concerned about.

Uh... yeah... that's what I was doing... Actually, they are meant to share 2 tokens. Since the figures are identical, it would be too much to have to keep track of which is which, so they have only 1 damage point and have the same tokens... That will be cleared up in the rules booklet...
