Some very nice monsters here. I really liked the Servitor of the Outer gods. I also added Cat from Saturn, Priest Mneyphet (to bring some more Exhibit items) and Medusa to my monster cup. I liked Medusa because there should be some "immediately to reduced to 0 stamina or sanity" monsters. I like the masks too, but haven´t had enough courage to take them in game

Quick suggestion for any willing modders out there. How about creating Cultists for each of the Ancient Ones, as dictated by their stats under Worshippers.

Whenever a player draws a Cultist they replace the token with the Cultist token for the Ancient One in question.

There are quite a few other spells that modify cultists though... and some GOOs that modify other monsters beside cultists. I always wanted to just make big cards with modifiers printed on them for use with environments, worshiper abilities, etc... but I think that is just one of this games downsides, modifiers are often forgotten...

Does anyone know how to change the size of the monster screen in the Strange Eons program? I can't see or get to the interface when making custom monsters. I'm pulling my hair out! Much thanks to anyone for helping me out.

I imagine you figured it out by now or have lost all your hair.

For some reason, the default is that the interface screen is a pull down and if you look closely you will see two little direction markers (up and down) Move your cursor around until it changes, then click and hold.

The images on these Monster Cards were created by Paul Carrick. http://www.nightserpent.com/ If any problems arise, I will remove these immediately.

My Version of a Servitor of the Outer Gods

The Servitor's single-minded goal, is to help usher in the Ancient One. In mythos stories, they usually accompany, precede, and often announce their masters (especially Azathoth). This is the reason for their ability to add to the doom track. When a Servitor comes into play, it would be in the best interest of the investigators to eliminate it quickly.

Mr. Shiny has been known to work closely with various cults to help bring about the end of this world at the hands (tentacles) of the Great Old Ones and Outer Gods. To reflect this I made him less threatening to members of Arkham's resident Elite Cult, The Silver Twilight Lodge.

Hey, great work everyone! The monsters in this forum are quite amazing!

I would like to make a suggestion though. Next to the monster pic and description, you could suggest how many such monsters would fit in a monster cup. In that way the monster could be playtested without unbalancing the game.

Thank you all. Keep on providing great ideas!

I like your monsters but

1) Shantak and Color of the space use images that are already in the game --> BAD!

2) I wouldn't put in the game a shantak, since you're able to summon one. Just flavor attention

Duely noted and removed...btw where do the images I used appear in the game? Also what allows you to summon a Shantak. I didn't notice them, however I only have the basegame and KIY so thats maybe why...and am un-observant

All the images came from my collection of ccg cards from fantasy flight...doh!

Cheers, Hal

In the Dunwich Horror game there is the monster Color out of Space, which has the same picture as your Color from the Stars (or whatever it was). Also in Dunwich there is a spell Summon Shantak, that lets you gain an extra movement point and automatically evade any monsters.

I've been trying out 17 of the custom monsters provided in this forum in my games. Now that I'm ready to add the Dunwich Horror expansion again, I'm wondering if the additional 16 monsters are going to have any negative effect. One person is already complaining about how difficult the new monsters are, and I don't think we've even seen a Cultist in the past 2 games.

How is everyone adding monsters to the cup?

I'm thinking of a couple of ways to do this. 1) Just dump in new monsters. For every 8 new monsters, add 1 Cultist. For every 2 Cultists you add, also add a Maniac. So for Dunwich, with 16 new monsters for the cup, also add 2 Cultists and 1 Maniac. This keeps the proportion of "human" monsters the same. It's pretty easy, as you just need to keep count of the new monsters in use.

2) Start a monster exchange program for everyone except Cultists and Maniacs. Swap one in for each one taken out of the cup, targeting those monsters in the existing cup that i) have the same symbol and ii) are duplicates. Track the difference the swap has made to the cup so you can try to compensate the next time you want to add a new monster. This method is more complicated depending on what monster stats you track, but it doesn't require additional Cultist and Maniac markers.
