...and it made me feel warm and fuzzy, but in a cautious way, I remember the disappointment that was Fire Warrior. Not saying it was a bad game, just lacking somewhat. IG,AS, AA or an Assassin would have been better.)

Interesting. We’ll see, maybe they learned something from Fire Warrior fiasco... On the other hand Down of War is a great game so for now we shall pray to the Emperor in hope that they will see His light and create something extraordinary. But again, hope is first step in the road to disappointment.

Eww, consoles only. Let's hope there'll be at least a PC conversion coming out after a year or so.

Anyhow, 40k has a lot of potential for action games. I'll remain careful when it comes to having high hopes here, at least until we know more - but this is certainly something to keep an eye on.

Where as it made me read it all the more.

Jeez, console/PC elitists are almost as bad as RP elitists.

A very tiny fraction more here.

And yes, PC/ Console elitism is rather dull. Especially if you have both, console and PC. Only real way to game.

My sentiment exactly... any decent gamer should be able to switch seamlessly between console gaming and PC gaming.

Wht should TV's be important? I only have one TV and one PC Monitor. (And I borrow my sisters laptop from time to time.)

No, not for every game. Consoles surely are better suited for sports games or (especially) beat'em'ups. And I can't even imagine something like Super Mario Brawl on the PC. Won't work.
On the other hand, I firmly believe that first person shooters/RPGs and strategy games are just better on the computer.

This has nothing to do with elitism. It's simply a question of controls. Joypad vs mouse/keyboard.

And it's a known fact that console shooters have to incorporate auto-aim mechanics in order for people to hit anything. I just simply prefer aiming myself, thankyouverymuch.

Indeed prefered controls count. I myself have never gotten to grips with FPS's on a PC. Just never clicked with me. But one of my friends only uses his PC for such games. (His PS2 exists only for Dynasty Warriors.)
RPGs it depends on the design, Fable 2 definitely more for console something else might suit PC more.
Strategy, apart from strategy light titles like Battalion Wars 2 or similar, and maybe Stormrise next year I always prefer PC, simply because it is generally the better system for such games.

But too many people take on look at a system and assume averything for it is crap, too many people on my the IT course I took at college did this. Any game that wasn't PC-centric was crap. Which is of course, cobblers.

Personally as long as they don't Fire Warrior it I'm looking forward to a brawling, slashing and hacking h2h orientated title on the 360.

Yeah, pretty much the same here.
Fighting, Driving, Sports, Platform, 3rdPS = Console
FPS, RTS, RPG = PC all the way

It's a control issue, but there's another issue. Any game that didn't purposely gimp itself (ie a lame console port) will have 10 times the commands you can input and will look 3 times better on a PC. RPGs and RTSs on consoles are usually dumbed down to the point of being embarassing (the outstanding work of Bioware being an exception.)

Not to mention the ability to modify games on the PC. Just think about all the mods for Dawn of War, or GTA.

I always thought that the Space Marine "thing" was unrealised as a form of co-operative play FPS. Now that is a game I would play. That or a resource management version ala the original Battlecruiser, but that's just me.

I, too, prefer the keyboard. But then again I'm not really a gamer.

Elite/ Frontier with more role-playing elements, sort of a Rogue Trader video game. MMMM.

Some of my favourite titles are from the old Amiga days, when everyone else I new had Nintendo or Sega I got to play DreamWeb, Elite and MegaTraveller 2.

Fix'd.

PS: Frontier was awesome. Sadly, I never got Battlecruiser to run on my computer.

They Should just remake Chaos Gate. The best 40K Game made to date.

In what vessels did they pour forth their polluted essences, in what form did they hope to subjugate the universe, with whose hands do they, even now, reach across the frontiers of space in vain aspirations of conquest? It is both obviously and painfully clear that it is WE who they venerate; they wish nothing more than to be like us, to be like Him whose children they envy…
