"A Psychologist for the NRA!!"

I love the surreal flavor random item draws give to Arkham horror. Where else would a board certified psychologist consider a shotgun, a cavalry saber and whiskey necessary on-the-job equipment. What exactly are you a professor of if youre tenureship requires you to carry around dynamite? And what about the Nun with the motorcycle...

On theother hand, what is a prohibition era-gangster going to do in another universe anyway? "Hey, this is a real nice dmension yous got here. It would be a shame if something...."happened" to it."

Shotgun + Dynamite + Whiskey = redneck psychologist.
So cool.

I'm just waiting for the time I'll draw a Tommy Gun with Wendy Adams.
I'll lol the soul out of me that day.

Too specific. I'd simply say, Americans in general. We love our guns, we love to blow #$%@ up, and we love our cheap alcohol. If that doesn't say 'Patriotism', I don't know what does!

I was going to disagree as I am American and I don't love guns, but I really can't agrue with the rest of it.

Well Bravo, you should know that coastal parts of America (containing 1/3rd to 1/2 of the population?) aren't actually considered part of America. But hey, if our neighbors who believe we should continue business as usual have their way and the sea levels rise, soon we really won't be ;'D

I think Dr. Fern should definitely be a Jungian. Or a Freudian. Or a Behaviorist ;'D "The Gug is merely a collection of stimuli and response, watch at a primitive level, as I jab my enchanted blade into its eye and its knee will involuntarily kick up. Likewise, the Ancient One would not attempt to enter our dimension were it not for our positively reinforcing it with doom tokens. This is why every time it receives a doom token, I shall give all the other investigators an electric shock."

Hmmm... I guess I should emphasize the three laughing smilies at the end of my comment. It was a joke, ladies and germs. I'm an American as well, and I subscribe to none of the things that I attribute to general Americans, but I DO like making fun of them, because, well... I can.

Well, I'm Italian and I *do*love thinking of drunk American rednecks driving rusty pickups with a pack of six and a shotgun on the passenger's seat, with a confederate flag attached somewhere in the rear.

Sur, the '20s were a completely different period...

In a game Saturday night with my son and my brother, I played Amada Sharpe. I started out with the Tommy gun, and on my first draw from the common deck, I got whisky.

We were totally cracked up by the idea of a coed roaming Miskatonic University with booze and a Tommy gun. Perhaps she was a trafer student from Virginia Tech?

Talk about Babes Gone Wild.

Dare we even speculate what would happen if the little Wendy Adams gets Father Iwanicki as an Ally?
We're having a game tomorrow, I guess we'll house rule the combo into her being devoured.

I'll lol the soul out of me that day.

We just got the expansion with Wendy Adams, and my little sister chose to play as Wendy right away. Her random common item when setting up her character: The tommy gun. My brain crumpled up into a ball and started squealing like a boiling lobster.

Just picture a small child standing at the Bank holding a Tommy Gun. Yeeeesh.

I suppose her being at the bank and packin' that kind of ammo is just a telling sign of the increased criminal activities of modern day youths.

Well, I played her once only, and also started with the Tommy Gun. Later on, she was deputized (I simply couldn't resist).

It's interesting she can't get a bank loan, but that tavern in Kingsport will gladly serve her whiskey.

Yes, in my game she had an encounter there, too, and (in another encounter) the Terrible Old Man would have joined her if he was available.

...I think she also had a very blasphemic tome (perhaps even the Necronomicon) or something like that, but I'm not sure...

Victimizer wrote:You would too if she held a gun to your head!

Don't say that - the Vampire Lord in the Underworld ignored her, because he was sure that Wendy didn't pose a threat.
