Announcing the Assault on Ulthuan expansion for Warhammer: Invasion
Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game | Published 15 December 2009

Malekith's prowess is as legendary as his ultimate betrayal, but the Phoenix King and his followers will do everything in their power to oppose the vile and destructive Dark Elves.

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce an upcoming expansion for Warhammer: Invasion: The Card Game, Assault on Ulthuan! This deluxe expansion brings two new factions to the forefront of the war for the Old World.

The Assault on Ulthuan expansion explores the bitter enmity between the Dark Elves and the High Elves. The Dark Elves are a cruel race who excel at taking prisoners, sacrificing them, and inflicting vast amounts of pain on enemy units through hit point reduction. This treacherous faction seeks to enslave the other races of the Warhammer world. The High Elves are a proud, powerful race who rely on card denial, cancellation, healing, and ranged attacks. They work to heal damage to the world and unlock the ancient mysteries of the arcane. Both will raise mighty kingdoms and venture out on perilous quests as they seek the power to stand victorious. Can either faction rise to dominance over the other, or will they both succumb to another foe altogether?

Assault on Ulthuan contains two core starter decks of forty cards, as well as two capital boards for the Dark Elves and High Elves. Players of the existing factions will find plenty to aid them as well; new cards for the other four factions, plus a handful of neutrals, bring a host of new strategies, tactics, and deck-building options for each of the six races in the game.

The war for supremacy over the Old World has already seen bloodshed and suffering beyond imagination... but this was only the beginning. This spring, two new forces join the invasion!

Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game is a card game by Eric M. Lang in which 2 players develop their kingdoms and lay waste to their foes. Each side is comprised of either the forces of Order or the forces of Destruction as they seek to extend their empire to include the entire Old World. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Battle Pack expansions to the core game.

Daaamn guys just from the image of the Set it makes me loving it *-* !
I really like elves in Warhammer lore(both of them) and i can't wait to play their cards and tactics :) .

I wonder, which heroes will they have? I guess major heroes from the lore can't be included(Malekith and the Phoenix King) so i think they'll go for Eltharion and Darkblade, or maybe Teclis..wath do you think about it?

Really looking forward to this one!!

But of course it'll take centuries to reach aussie shores.

Haven't even seen the skaven cards yet!

I heard this expansion would have multiplayer rules too, i'm looking forward to them!

Eric is my inspiration. Taking a game concept and making it simple. Instead of adding all the counter and tokens FFG does, Eric makes the games easy to setup and quick to learn, but hard to master. I hope FFG is letting Eric run the games production line.

As a side note. FFG PLEASE GET THE MULTIPLAYER RULES OUT ASAP. This card game is calling for them. My store is calling for them. My customers are calling for them. The critics are calling for them. The people below this post are calling for them.

The rule book mentions them, so when are we getting them? One thing chess misses is team play and this makes the game kinda dull. Team work is so much more fun when you don't have to push units all over a board or worry about they team mate rolling poorly. So please please please have them out before the spring. If not possible at least make sure to get them in to this box.

Ah. My hopes that this expansion would have capital cards (normal sized cards) for all six races are fading.

This is great!

I was hoping they were going to publish the capital cards for other factions but i was a bit worried as of how they were going to do it. This is a great way, more cards and accessories per box is never a bad thing... especially in a game as good as this one.

I appreciate that this is only a $25 product, like the Game of Thrones and Arkham expansions. I don't see a huge need to buy 3 at this point, but I can definitely afford 2 at that price. Looking forward to more spoilers on this set.

Can´t Wait!!! :D

I'm kind of relieved that this isn't coming out until Spring, it lets me save up some money so I can buy 3 boxes at once this time.

I already have enough damage, burn, and resource tokens. What I could use this time around are some power icon tokens (to act as +1 counters) to help me remember how buffed some of my units are.

Nice! I can't wait to get my hands on this. As a life-long elf fan, I've been waiting to have the LCG translation of my favorite faction.

I'm sure they'll get around to doing more factions (except Beastmen... I imagine they'll just cram them into the Chaos faction); the game's only been around for a few months.

@darkkami: I agree. I see no reason for me to ever buy CCGs or TCGs ever again, what with the amount of LCGs out there.
