One Edition to Rule Them All 19
An exclusive look at War of the Ring: Collector's Edition
War of the Ring: Collector's Edition | Published 02 November 2009

Here at the offices of Fantasy Flight Games we have just received our first copy of War of the Ring: Collector’s Edition. The moment we set eyes on it we knew we had to share this with you, but since we can’t show this stunning masterpiece in person here’s a quick video to give you some idea of what all the excitement is about.

The moment you gaze upon the carved wooden and resin exterior, you’ll understand the level of craftmanship and unparalleled attention to detail that went into its design. From the accurate calligraphy in Elvish which reads “Auth e-Gorf, Onnen o Chîr i Chyrf na I. R. R. Tolcien” or “War of the Ring, based on the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien”, to the individual protective trays for all game components, the velvet lined interior and the magnificiently painted models, this will be the centerpiece of your game collection whether you are a fan of gaming or a lover of J.R.R. Tolkien’s seminal work.

By the time we were able to post this video, over half of the copies have already been sold

We encourage you to act quickly if you’re considering your own copy of this beautiful, one-of-a-kind edition of War of the Ring, a game countless players have loved for years. There are fewer than 400 left and once they’re all sold, there will be no more available!

War of the Ring: Collector's Edition immerses players in the struggle for Middle-earth, placing them in command over the military might of vast armies, as well as over Tolkien’s most legendary characters as they decide the fate of the world, for good or ill.

Bless you for showing this video and curse you for showing this video.  The more I am able to see of this edition, the more excited I get about my purchase.  However, seeing it in it's full glory is making the wait until December excruciating.

If you are having trouble with the video talking too long to load, it has been uploaded to youtube.

I got one of the last Christmas orders.  I have already painted all my figures.  I just want the board and the cards and will sell the rest.  $400 is perfectly reasonable for what you get.  Great Job Nexus & FFG!!!

I think this is wonderful. Finally could resist the pull of the one ring no longer and put my order in.

Video worked fine. Upon hearing of the collectors edition and there being a second chance to order one, It took me about 4 hours to finally give in to the one ring...I put my order in . I a happy I did. I know I will enjoy this collectors edition. I think the price is right for what you are getting. If I could I would buy too. One to play and one for the attic...

That is very very very cool.  But the fact is its also very very very expensive.   I am a typical gamer(which means I blow lots of money) but even I can't justify 400 dollars for a board game.
