A Second Chance 10
You can still pre-order War of the Ring: Collector's Edition
War of the Ring: Collector's Edition | Published 30 October 2009

FFG is excited to announce that we have begun accepting pre-orders for the second shipment of War of the Ring: Collector’s Edition!

As you may recall, we announced that only 800 of these amazing limited edition copies would be made available through our webstore, with 400 coming before Christmas, and the other 400 coming early in the new year.

The first 400 have sold out, and will arrive at their owner’s homes in time for the holidays. You may have missed out on the first round of orders, but you can still pre-order your copy, if you act quickly!

War of the Ring is a board game that puts 2-4 players in command of either the armies of the Free Peoples or the dark host of the Shadow. By mustering troops and deploying them in key regions, both sides hope to claim power and control the fate of Middle-earth.

I wonder if the missing boards will appear in a future collector's edition expansion? I haven't heard any plans, but would be nice to have the complete game in this format.

Wytefang, when was a "game entitlement" program initiated?

Keep telling yourself that you really don't want something enough times and maybe you'll convince yourself.

Agrees with Taern. I myself cannot afford this item, otherwise I would have bought it, but I'm not resentful that other people are able to buy it. You on the other hand  seem to be more than resentful.

I'm sorry, but Wytefang, I have to comment on your personal vendetta against those who have purchased this game.  Your tone here and on BGG has been inflamatory and rude, and without drudging up some sort of socio-economic debate, the fact is there are those who can and will purchase this game, they can and will enjoy it, and it makes perfect sense to them to do so.  Feel free to complain about the price... but please, for the sake of civility, do stop insulting those who just want to enjoy this product.

Agreed, Jakews.  Makes me wonder about paychecks in this country when someone can just blithely toss $400 out for a Board Game that probably won't be played as much as preened over.  LOL

I love the idea, but the price tag is way out of my reach.  :(

I got mine late last night.  I think I may have gotten the last one of the 1st 400.  Man, that was CLOSE!

Congratulations to both FFG and Nexus Games.  Now the clock is ticking to see how fast the remaining 400 go.  This was a huge production both in terms of cost and risk.

Thanks for taking on the challenge to bring this remarkable edition to the fans.  I know I will cherish my copy for the countless years of enjoyment it will bring me.
