Pete stumbled back from the bank of the river, falling into a pile of soft, wet leaves. As the menacing form emerged from the water, Duke yipped at it ferociously. Pete clutched at the ground in a panic, feeling desperately in the darkness for something to throw or swing.... something to defend himself with.

This winter, you’ll have a new weapon in the ongoing fight to keep the streets of Arkham safe. Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Arkham Horror Custom Dice! Designed by Q-Workshop, producers of high-quality polyhedral dice, these highly-detailed six-sided dice are cast from hand-carved originals, and feature sculpted number faces as well as Elder signs on the "5" and "6" sides indicating successes!

Arkham Horror is a boardgame of mystery and madness set in Arkham in the 1920's. Players investigate the strange happenings about the town, and race to prevent ancient evil from surfacing. Playable with 1-8 players.

Saying you need three sets of custom dice in order for these to be worthwhile is really shameful.  Shame.  Feel it.

you need at least 3 sets of custom  dice... 1 for blessed (3 elder signs) one for Normal (2 elder signs) and one for Cursed (1 ender sign). Having a single set of custom dice like this would be pretty much useless as it will not be bale to cope with all types of game play in AH. Good idea but fail.. sorry FF. Try again.. make a green, blue, red versions for blessed, normal, cursed. Remove all that detail, and use blank sides for the non-elder sides.

Standard dice work just fine, and if the dice which come with Age of Conan are any indicator - mine are already showing signs of much wear and tear - I'll be giving these a pass. Pricing is likely to be disproportionate to their actual value. I'd be pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong.

Sadly I agree with JerusalemJones, I like the colours but there are too much details. Would have been better (and more expensive) if they had two colours. One for the frills and one for the numbers. Maybe a nice leathal orange for the numbers :)

Knuckles Eki,

This is the spot where you placed the comment to hich you referred on my thread.  I couldn't find it among the posts.  anyway, the Chessex dice should prove outstanding ~ the order's at nearly 700!

I actually spotted these in a game store here in Tokyo the other day. However, it was in a dice pack from Chaosium with only a couple of D6 and then a bunch of D10. Same design though.

Okay, now how about a release date? Even better, a release date of 'right now'.

Omg so cool!!! But the many modifiers in the game mean that usually sucesses are not on 5 and 6.

Numerals?? Because sometimes you're success with 4..., you can't play without numerals

If you look at the corner on the elder sign sides, the number is clearly visible even in these pictures (look at the middle top row, top corner for example.) So, you should still be able to delineate blessed/cursed sucesses

So, are these weighted to only roll 2's?

I see they are made for normal checks.  We need blue dice with elders on 4, 5 and 6 for blessed checks, red dice with elder only on the 6 for cursed checks.  Tell me about it.
