Warhammer Fantasy has been in existence for over two decades. Now, Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game! Taking place in the war-torn setting of Warhammer Fantasy, players muster their forces, collect vast resources, venture out on perilous -but rewarding- quests, build and develop their kingdom, and lead massive sieges against heavily fortified foes. Designed by Eric M. Lang, award-winning designer of the Call of Cthulhu and A Game of Thrones card games, Warhammer: Invasion puts you in charge of an empire seeking to rule the lands.
Races are divided into Order and Destruction. The Dwarfs, a proud race for Order, continue to seek recompense for wrongs done to them in years past. Thick armour, mighty weapons, and their knowledge of building will see their empire return to glory once more. Savage and brutal forces of Destruction, the Orcs wage war on everyone, including themselves. Able to deal out massive blows and jury-rig together haphazard camps and weapons of war, the Orcs desire nothing more than a foe to fight. The Empire is sprawling, industrious, and firmly dedicated to the forces of Order. Featuring some of the most brilliant minds of the age, the Empire constructs towering citadels and trains their troops to the highest standard. Led by the Emperor, Karl Franz, the lands of men are ready for war. The forces of Destruction are proud to count Chaos among their ranks. Boasting deadly spells and terrifying daemons, Chaos is able to strike swiftly and take out many enemy capitals. Once entrenched, the forces of the Ruinous Powers are difficult to dislodge. Elves, though few in number, are found on both sides of the conflict. The noble High Elves join the forces of Order, while their cruel kin, the Dark Elves, join the ranks of Destruction. Each race can be played individually, or alliances may be struck between factions; Order may only ally with Order, and Destruction can only join like-minded forces.
As you build up your Capital, you must construct buildings to grow your empire, muster troops to defend your realm, destroy the foes arrayed against you, and send your troops on perilous quests. Featuring an innovative system of development, Warhammer Invasion gives you the chance to forge the realm you always dreamt of. Combine the forces of Order however you wish, or forge dark alliances with the powers of Destruction. Each side must balance their desire for dominance with their struggle for supplies. Every unit brought forth can contribute to your attacking force, your ability to bring in new cards, or to your overall resources. In this desperate battle for glory, can you afford not to have any of these three?
For those of you who can’t get enough of the Warhammer world we have an added bonus! Within the Core Set are codes for two exclusive items for the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning MMO. Wow... lot of new Gamesworkshop series stuff coming out... all of it looks awesome!! :P
Ok you convinced me to try one of these "living" card game types... can't wait to try it. ;)
Sounds very cool to me... My poor wallet..... :(
Good news, even though i was hoping for 40k LCG, i'm eager to try that one out. I hope that the pictures show the final look of the cards (as in without borders), cause they look really great that way.
On the side note, this, Chaos in the Old World, Rogue Trader, Pegasus Expansion and i'm tempted to try Middle-Earth Quest ... And i think that's not all i have on my radar. You sure now how to drain my wallet FFG ;)
I just talked my friends into playing AGOT and we got the starter and some expansions.. and NOW you announce this... I hate you FFG :)
Ugh, this and Chaos in the old world....I can *Feel* my money leaving me.. :p
Wow, something else to look forward to from FFG!
darn you FFG! I JUST canceled my Warhammer Age of Reckoning MMO account! (due to system specs issues... I NEED A NEW COMPUTER!)
Well now I can just play this card game. This'd better be good Lang! Or I'll reroll to the opposing faction in WAR and pwn your face!
wow! Can't wait to see more on this! And hopefully more armies such as the Vampires in exapnsions.
Looks like I'll be giving this a try. And I don't even play Warhammer. But I love the LCG games, and this is just a natural addition with FFG having bought Sabertooth.

Looks beautiful for sure. I can't wait either...better be out at GenCon!
