In theory, the small council of King's Landing is one of the throne's most potent political assets, a collection of experienced advisors devoted to the good of the realm. In practice, the council is rife with deceit, corruption, treachery, intrigues, and betrayal.
Continuing to develop the themes of the King's Landing series, the Secrets and Spies chapter pack for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game is bound to make its way into every player's deck upon its release this Fall.
Ser Osmund Kettleblack joins the ranks of the Kingsguard deck, with Visenya's Hill and Jeyne Poole making their very first appearance in the A Game of Thrones card game.
The King's Landing card provides a draw engine for a Shadow deck, while Littlefinger, Varys, and Qyburn make this the most deceitful Chapter Pack ever!
Based on George R.R. Martin's bestselling fantasy epic, A Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones: The Card Game brings the beloved heroes, villains, locations, and events of the world of Westeros to life through innovative game mechanics and the highly strategic game play. The Living Card Game™ format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Chapter Pack expansions to the core game.
@erccmmo: I saw that the artwork has been part of the introduction flashscreen of the FFG AGOT webpage for a while, so i just used the google picture search and typed "Cersei Lannister".
You´ll find different sized images of the Cersei picture, e.g. here:
where did you get the desktop background of cersei old ben?
This smokin´ Cersei art has been my desktop image for about half a year now. I´m glad that i´ll finally see the card soon.
The king´s landing location seems to be done very well, it´s a solid neutral draw, but it finally has a decent cost that must be paid, so it will be not a fast-selling item like massing/ watching or the old promo king´s landing, but it´s still a good card that´ll find it´s way in many decks. Besides that the artwork is again awesome, these shades of grey over kings landing fit so well to to the shadow and kings landing theme, the artwork really feels to be painted for this special scenario.
Well the Streets and Bara resource location are king's landing. My assumption is that this card will be good if point and click location removal is also a part of the deck.
Agree with Finite...
At least we know Varys is going to be good (spoiled earlier) and I always like Littlefinger, so this chapter pack should still be a good one. It really is too bad that cards like this King's Landing are posing for universal draw potential. I guess it all depends on what is released between now and then, but for now I'll remain underwhelmed.
Wow, that might possibly be the most smokin' art of Cersei that I've seen so far.
yeah, this just isn't a solution to the lack of card draw in the environment; in fact, i think it borders on unplayable. a 4 cost draw mechanism in the form of a unique location that depends on what your opponents are playing is completely uninteresting. seriously, why not give the other houses something at least close to something as easy to implement as golden tooth mines? i hope this isn't all that's in the pipeline for balancing card draw between, well, lanni and all the rest of the houses.
I hate auto draw... or more to the point I hate easy everything. Working for it makes it more interesting, the game more varied, and less about just sticking the most powerful cards together. This will power up a Shadows deck beautifully and should be able to find its way into a couple of decks that while not Shadows focused make good use of the mechanic.
Neutral card draw yes. Neutral card draw from unique, 4 gold (basically) location with a conditional effect.... the jury's still out.
Neutral card draw. Anyone interested?
