The Hand of the King was the second-most powerful man in the Seven Kingdoms. He spoke with the king’s voice, commanded the king’s armies, drafted the king’s laws. Robert was offering him a responsibility as large as the realm itself. It was the last thing in the world he wanted.
- A Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire, Book One by George R.R. Martin
The Tower of the Hand is the third Chapter Pack in the King's Landing series, coming this Summer for the A Game of Thrones Living Card Game™. This expansion further fleshes out the Shadows mechanic, introducing an effect that allows cards to return to the Shadows area from play, and it also focuses on the integral characters who have held the dangerous Hand of the King post, such as Tywin Lannister and Eddard Stark.
The Tower of the Hand also introduces the legendary Jon Arryn to the A Game of Thrones card game for the first time.
Jon Arryn, Lord Paramount of the Vale, fostered young Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon and stood by them during Robert's Rebellion, later to be appointed as King Robert's Hand.
This long-awaited, renowned Arryn Lord brings with him a powerful "put into play" effect that should have all the nobles of the Seven Kingdoms clamoring for his death...
With the Hand at your side, can you hold on to the Iron Throne?

Nope, its still all speculation and conjecture at this point as to how exactly the Shadows mechanic is going to function.
Anyone know how this Shadows mechanic works???
Very cool. I can't see how that package art could be anyone but Barristan Selmy. I could go for a playable Targaryen version of him in LCG. Arstan Whitebeard is craptastic. And... We need a Jorah Mormont!
At first sight I'd say "Barristan", but he as already 2 cards right now so maybe I'm wrong. Hope it is not Jon Arryn because he doesn't look like I think.
Sweet! The art for Jon Arryn looks great. I can't wait to see the new cards.
Who do you think that is on the front of the pack?
Totally nedly move would be to kill him with the Tears of Lys. And looking forward to a Hand version of Eddard that could be cool. And now we know a little bit more about the Shadows mechanic though I'd still just like to learn how it works in the first place!
Jon Arryn... I can't wait. Let the clamoring for his death begin!
