Witness the Beginning of the End 13
View the rise of the Ancient One in the Elder Sign video
Elder Sign | Published 22 August 2011

Never was a sane man more dangerously close to the arcana of basic entity–never was an organic brain nearer to utter annihilation in the chaos that transcends form and force and symmetry.
–H.P. Lovecraft, “The Whisperer in Darkness”

The gates to beyond stretch open further than ever, and the museum holds horrible secrets in store for the few brave investigators who recognize the terrifying reality of the Ancient One’s approach!

Recently, we posted the rules for Elder Sign. Now you can take a deeper look at the maddening confrontations with monsters and non-Euclidian geographies of alien terrain this quick dice game holds in store.

Madness at first sight

Players in Elder Sign assume the roles of investigators racing to prevent the Ancient One from entering the world through gates from other dimensions. As the time to doomsday dwindles, investigators desperately hunt for Elder Signs, the potent eldritch symbols needed to close the gates and seal the Ancient One away forever.

Should they fail, the Ancient One’s elder might threatens to reduce all humanity to cinders.

Witness the beginning of the end times investigators must prevent in our Elder Sign video (QuickTime, 57.4 MB).

This works like a dream on my Sony S tablet, fingers crossed that we Android users also receive the Arkham Horror Toolkit at some point or even a BSG Tool. Another example of I-Phone apartheid and totally alienating to be denied this (and not in a cosmically good way)!

Kudos, big time. I'm amazed Games Workshop doesn't do similar...looks like they have the money.

 *THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE*

That's for the video. The game also looks great, but the praise today is to your video team, CTP.

Investing in that team was a great frikkin idea. Look at the quality of the 3D! The lighting and composition is amazing on this one. Technically, this is the most advanced video you've done yet and it looks simply gorgeous.

You could ship TERRIBLE games with PR like this. Well done.

And doubly well done on the fact that the game itself looks like a lot of fun :)

These videos are great.  I also loved the blood splatter effect.  I like the mix of overview and tutorial.  I look forward to seeing a full tutorial set of videos soon.  *crosses fingers*  I have this one pre-ordered and just played my first game of Arkham Horror last night and I am pretty damn happy I grabbed this now.

I like most of what I see. Now I'm only wondering how interactive the co-op is. The video didn't get into too much detail, but it didn't leave a feeling of strong co-op play. It seemed more like players are all on the same side, but not really helping each other. Maybe it just wasn't featured. *shrug*

Guess I'll wait for more reviews.

That video made me smile. I loved the moments (spoilers) where the little touches like the blood spraying onto the card and the dice popping out of the card.

Really enjoyed this video, especially the beginning and end. Ending even though I saw it coming still made me jump.
