I am going crazy!
Wow! 7 and a half months since last announcement and its still 6 to 8 weeks minimum before the game turns up. I am struggling to see how FFG can view its current no communication policy as the best one in these circumstances.
Personally I'm really looking forward to this new edition. Shorter quests are a good thing imo as so many of my friends don't really enjoy games that take 4 hours to play through. Sure it's fun but it does seem to take a bit too long for games to be run even with all experienced players.
Second, I'm also looking forward to a better organized ruleset (why they couldn't put *all* the rules regarding status effects like poison, stun, etc. in one place is beyond me).
Finally adding more stuff like heroes and monsters is always a safe bet. Looking forward to it.
And like everyone else I, too, wish there was more info on this.
Ok, i get it, someone cast a "curse of the monkey god" on whole FFG staff related to Descent. Because i cannot imagine one thing which can prevent anyone from writing a single sentence like "Sorry, no descent in 1.Q or 2.Q"
That would be much better then this silence and endless hoping :(
I hope ffg will be keeping to their release plan and we will see Desent 2nd in March but I doubt it. I have the feeling desent will be released at the end of this year.

We getting any more annoucements on this yet? its been 4 monthes since this was annouced and were on the verge of first quarter and still not a peep. I want more to wet my appetite!
So, as someone who has only just bought 'Descent' (actually still awaiting delivery) I wonder......... Will this conversion kit turn my recent purchase into 2nd edition? Doubtfull..... So if I want to play 2nd edition I'll have to buy 2nd edition AND this conversion kit or probably never get an expansion that'll be compatible. I've been looking into buying "Road to Legend" to give my new purchase some longevity but it's mysteriously unavailable. (out of print and unstocked everywhere) So I guess I just bought a box of plastic miniatures really, until 2nd edition and the expansion are released. Will I buy them.....?? FFG haven't really been a good experience for me so far... we shall have to wait and see.

Nnnn..... I don't think I'm really enjoying the GINORMOUS shoulder-pads.... Looks a little too Final Fantasy for me. I also don't think that shorter quests is a very good selling point. This game might be too character-focused, and arbitrary when it comes to abilities - like that other square-based rpg....
