“Then I cannot help you much, not even with counsel,” said Elrond. “I can foresee very little of your road; and how your task is to be achieved I do not know. The Shadow has crept now to the feet of the Mountains, and draws nigh even to the borders of Greyflood; and under the Shadow all is dark to me."
–The Fellowship of the Ring, J.R.R. Tolkien
With last month’s international release of The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, fans across the globe formed their fellowships and began their adventures in Middle-earth. Available worldwide in six languages, this momentous release is the most successful in our company’s history, and everyone at Fantasy Flight Games has been thrilled to witness its enthusiastic reception by the gaming community.
But if you haven’t yet joined the adventure, fear not! Although we are currently sold out of this groundbreaking cooperative LCG, some copies may still remain available through distributors or retailers. What’s more, we’re hard at work producing the second printing, which we will make available as soon as we can.
In the meantime, check back next week for more information on Shadows of Mirkwood, the first exciting cycle of Adventure Packs for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game!
Live the Adventure
The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is a fully cooperative card game that puts 1-2 players (or up to four with two Core Sets) in control of the most powerful characters and artifacts of Middle-earth. Players will select heroes, gather allies, acquire artifacts, and coordinate their efforts to face Middle-earth’s most dangerous fiends. By cooperating to overcome the obstacles drawn from the encounter deck, you will complete the quest before you and claim victory!
In The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, players take on the roles of heroes attempting to complete dangerous quests. But instead of directly retelling the classic stories that have previously been narrated, this game provides players with a variety of elements —characters, settings, enemies, events, items, artifacts, scenarios — that allow them to embark upon new adventures and share new experiences with these beloved characters during this ominous period of Middle-earth history.
Read our series of previews and the description page to learn more, then prepare to live the adventure when the reprint of The Lord of The Rings: The Card Game arrives in stores in the third quarter of 2011!

I just got my copy last night and played solo for over 2 hours! This game rocks! I think I picked up the last core set available in my area. Tonight I'm going to try a co-op Quest and see how much more fun can be had. I cannot wait for the first adventure pack to come out!
typo: -this (sorry)
I preordered the english version this half a year ago at my brick and mortar store only to be told that they ordered in time - inquired at FFG and didn't receive an answer from FFG or the european main distributor for a week after the release.
They won't receive any games of the first batch at all. I'm very disappointed and will think twice about even getting this.
Had a 3 Player game on the 7th and had a blast ... very cool mechanics ... love the artwork... Cheer FFG
After first play, I must admit that i am satisfied. Thanks FFG for never ending quests in middle earth and lot of fun..
Finally have my copy today...I have to admite, that i thought that there will be better graphic layout..Some pictures are too dark.. Just my point of view. Sorry, I had to say it.
Got mine the day before yesterday. Played solo the first adventure 5 or 6 times.
Great game! I'm hooked!
Next week we will see previews start.
if i had understand next week the new expansion its available??
I also think the main reason is the Lord of the Rings theme...people are always eager for new lotr stuff, especially since the movie hype has somewhat abated. But its a great game and it deserves to sell well...let's hope there will be many players enjoying this one and contributing to a great experience!
Yes I got mine picked up on Sunday.
Did you finally get your copy, Toq?
