The Thing from the Shore and The Path to Y’ha-nthlei, two Asylum Packs from The Summons of the Deep cycle for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game are now on sale at your local retailer and our webstore!

These newly reprinted packs bring classic cards back to your tabletop. In addition to increasing from the 40-card packs of the original to the new 60-card format of 3 copies each of 20 unique cards, these Asylum Packs also incorporate the errata and clarifications of the FAQ (pdf, 428 KB) available for download from the support page. Both of these Asylum Packs feature a variety of cards that will enhance each faction's various strengths and strategies.

The Horror Within

The Thing from the Shore places emphasis on skill checks, and highlights the Syndicate’s special talent for skill adjustment through Tear Gas and Friend of the Family. It also spotlights Hastur’s removal capabilities through Vaporous Isle and Shadow Company. Cards such as The Spawn of Madness provide players with the ability to completely tap out their domains on their attack turn, and if opposed in a challenge, allows them to refresh the domains to be used on their opponent’s turn.

In The Path to Y'ha-nthlei, tortured sleepwalker Julia Brown's journey arrives at its destination through transformation, providing the backdrop for this Asylum Pack's theme of change and metamorphosis. Nothing is as it appears to be when walking (or swimming) the path to Y'ha-nthlei. Cards such as Eye of the Deep transforms characters with a printed skill of 3 or lower into 1 skill characters with no abilities for a phase, and are useful against opponents with a great number of characters in play.

Visit your local retailer and get ready to dive into The Things from the Shore and The Path to Y’ha-nthlei today!

Based on the fiction of H.P. Lovecraft and his literary circle, Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game takes two players deep into the Cthulhu Mythos where investigators clash with the Ancient Ones and Elder Gods for the fate of the world. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Asylum Pack expansions to the core game.
