Announcing Oksana, a single figure expansion for Tannhäuser
Tannhauser | Published 16 November 2010

“Where will you go?” the lab assistant asked Oksana Gusarenko as his superior began to prepare her Voïvodes for departure. “You do not have many friends left.”

Oksana shrugged, looking weary beyond her years. “There are bound to be those anxious for my help." She slid Lucifer over her hand, the mechanical gauntlet buzzing to life as she made a fist. “I shall have my revenge, no matter who assists me in extracting it.”

Fantasy Flight Games is excited to announce Oksana, the latest single figure expansion for Tannhäuser! Oksana is a former Archimandrite, defeated at the hands of the reincarnated god that she refused to bow to. Now she’s back to cause a split within the Matriarchy, the powerful faction introduced in the Operation Novgorod expansion. Just as likely to side with the Union as she is with the Matriarcy on her path to vengeance, Oksana is a powerful ally or a dangerous foe, depending on where you stand in her eyes.

Oksana utilizes the mechanical drones known as Voïvodes, which are utilized heavily in Operation Novgorod. These Voïvodes operate under Oksana’s control, doing her bidding without hesitation.

Oksana comes complete with a detailed pre-painted figure of Oksana Gusarenko, two pre-painted Voïvode miniatures, two character sheets, and tokens for all of her equipment. Oksana has the ability to field two Voïvodes when she is chosen as a hero. Players wishing to utilize Oksana’s technological talents must replace one of their Troopers with her two Voïvodes. She cannot be used on the same team as Zor’ka from the Operation Novgorod expansion.

In addition to these components, Oksana also comes with a rulebook featuring a custom scenario that sends her into Reich territory on a quest to recover lost documents.

Don’t miss your chance at recruiting Oksana this winter!

Tannhäuser is a squad based tactical board game set in an alternate timeline in which WWI has never ended. The forces of the Reich have turned to the occult, while the forces of the Union have delved into alien technology and developed deadly weapons of war. Using the revolutionary Path-Finding System, Tannhäuser is quick and easy to play.

So basically another character for the Union; who would play the Matriarch without Zorka? I was kind of hoping for a Reich character, although I will give her a chance. I enjoy the new toys though.

I am so happy that NEW stuff is on the way, finally!  I love games that feature alternate history, so Tannhauser and BattleLore (original BattleLore) are two of my absolute favorites.  Obviously I was a little apprehensive when Fantasy Flight took over both of them, but I hoped that these games would receive the same care and attention that my other favorite, Arkham Horror, gets.  It has been a long and difficult wait, but it seems that these two games are finally getting back up to speed in their new home.  I can't wait to get my hands on all the new expansions!

FINALLY!!! A new Matriarchy character besides Gorgeii. They definately gave her an interesting twist, though. Somehow voivodes with the Union don't quite fit in my mind.

Wow, this is really awesome news.

Moreover, the Daedalus Map Pack is now listed as being 'on the boat' within FFG's Upcoming page!
