Announcing the revised Wings of War: World War I Deluxe Set
Wings of War | Published 18 October 2010

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the Wings of War World War I Deluxe Set, the perfect starting place to introduce players to the Wings of War miniatures game. For veteran players, this set includes comprehensive rules covering the expansions to Wings of War, as well as planes in four new color schemes never-before-introduced in the game.

In Wings of War, players can recreate the epic dogfights of the Aces from the dawn of air combat through a unique and innovative card-driven maneuver and combat system. Wings of War is easy to learn, fun to play, and features beautifully-painted and historically-accurate miniatures of some of World War I's most famous planes.

Included with the Wings of War World War I Deluxe Set is a complete rule book - including rules to incorporate expansion planes, balloons, and blister packs into your game; counters, rulers, control boards, and two different damage decks; and four 1/144th scale miniature planes based on the Spad XIII, Sopwith Camel, Albatros D. Va, and Fokker DR I, painted in colors only available in this deluxe set.

Coming this Winter, you can begin your dogfighting adventures with the air aces of World War I with the new Wings of War World War I Deluxe Set. Take to the skies!

Wings of War is an innovative card game that realistically simulates aerial combat in both World War I and World War II. Add highly detailed miniatures or massive maps to further immerse yourself in the nail-biting action!

Finally, THIS Deluxe Starter Set is now something I will buy to start myself as a casual player of Wings of War (WW1 only since I don't like the WW2 version), not to mention that I will buy an extra set because the extra set will be a perfect Christmas present for my nephew (who at 8 years old was already watching the History Channel aka The Hitler Channel).

Was looking to start a local Wings league at the game store, but likely will wait until after the release of this product.

Does this come with the game mats like the WWII deluxe set did?

VERY enticing set here. Never got into this game, but want to try it. Good Christmas present idea.
