Recently, Fantasy Flight Games announced the upcoming Talisman expansion, The Sacred Pool. With this expansion players will be able to add new characters, Adventure cards, and Spell cards to their Talisman games. In addition, The Sacred Pool also introduces some brand new elements to Talisman, such as Neutral Alignment cards, Alternate Endings, and Stable cards. One of the most exciting new additions to the game is the Quest Reward deck. These cards introduce a new reason for players to undertake quests.
Quest Reward cards feature many different benefits for players, and whenever a player completes one of the Warlock’s Quests he may choose to draw a Quest Reward card in lieu of a Talisman. While Talismans are essential to winning the game, Quest Rewards are powerful boons that can potentially help you character throughout the remainder of the game. Also, since previous Talisman expansions feature many new ways to obtain quests, there is now a benefit to completing multiple quests in a single game.
And some quest rewards will prove to be particularly useful for certain characters...
The Magus uses his peons to further his own ends. He is an imposing figure of frightening power and he subjugates all those who feel inferior in his presence. His ability to always have a Spell combined with his potentially devastating psychic combat prowess, the Magus is indeed a deadly force to behold. With the Favor Owed Quest Reward, the Magus can Indoctrinate even more servants, making him a psychic combat machine.
Talisman is a classic board game of adventuring through the lands in search of the powerful Crown of Command. Take control of one of 14 different characters from a powerful Troll to a magical Druid, and enter a beloved world of fantasy adventure!
Where did you found that out?
Third one is the Cleric.
The Other characters are probably the black night, and the paladin, but for third one i don't know....looking forward to new ending cards...my favorite is battle royale;)
The next two previews will come in the next two weeks...so as i said,we should have this expansion in our hands in the middle of the october...
new title : Lazy Magus :)
Would someone please go look up the term "magus", "magi" (plural). Have we really gotten this lazy in looking to slap a title on a character?
Indeed Magus would be awesome with psychic combat. And on Duke_of_the_Blood_Keep if the model is as impressive as the illustration, here is a image on the back wich shows of the four characters http://talismanisland.com/gencon2010_03.jpg
Apperently the cultists got left out and he is just sitting on his throne
This player is only good when you attack lord or ice queen or eagle king...or when another character attacks you with craft(if his ability allows).......
His ability should be instead of the spell,is to attack the character in psyhic combat!
There are many better characters than this one. I don't like it...
Wow!!! with the Quest Rewards, my favorite currently FFG game Cosmic Encounters adds something very similar to Cosmic Flares to Talisman. Outstanding!
This guy has got to be the best character FFG have put into revised 4th edition yet. Dude's got his own sedan chair carried around by his weird brainwashed cultists. Think he should also have got a bonus to movement when you get four or more followers...
He can, sure. But both of them are Alternative Ending card, so they will appear once per X games. Also, personally I think that there is a lot of another better Ending cards than these, so maybe they never will be played. You also may add Demon Lord to this list, unless I'm wrong but I doubt that.
You also may thinking Eagle King as a board space. Sure, Magus could use his ability against EK. But EK is weak by itself, also Relic cards aren't well. Also bringing to the game Arnkell, which he could, because Relic cards are drawn randomly, could be his worst nighmare. Sure, after killing EK, he may teleport everywhere, even to another Character. But he may not use his abilities against it nor attack (he is weak in Strength, and may not attack in psychic), so basically Magus in most of cases has no reason to visit EK.
Agreed Jimsan, if an enemy offers the option to attack on either Craft or Strength you can use Craft. The only time it needs to be specified on the card is if you want to attack another player using craft!
I'm interested to see if the model is anywhere near as impressive as the illustration.
why he can't use this ability with eagle king or ice queen? :O perhaps i'm playing wrong :O
