Is a Storm Trooper really another 'level' of play though? I just see him as filling a different role to a Tech-Priest or an Officer or whatever.

I agree with this one honestly. I see the Storm Trooper specialty filling the niche of your standard Lasman instead of being something extrodinary.....mostly because the name Storm Trooper sounds better than Lasman or Guardsman honestly. It seems to me like the more logical conclusion there, but it could be that the Storm Trooper is also set as the niche for the big toys that aren't heavy weapons while you still get your lasman....so perhaps maybe the Storm Trooper could be the guy getting all the fancy experimental tech they want to use while you still have your generic Lasman.

That said, I'd like for my wish list to include some GOOD sniper weapons and sniper gear that doesn't seem as crap as the stuff in the other games. I'd really like an excellent SP sniper weapon that doesn't massively suck against armor because it has zero to maybe one armor penetration.

I would love to see a sniper akin to the one in IH...but with better range...say...300m at least. A Mosin Nagant in the hands of an expert (Vasili Zaitsev for example) could hit a man at 850 meters. I would imagen that 40k universe snipers have something a bit better than that.

@ SignOfTheSerpent, if you want some vehicles there is the Vehicles Apocraphy (or Apocrapha?).  I'm not sure if it was FFG but it came out in 2008 and although unoffical looks like it came out the 'back room' at FFG.  I don't know where to find it, it's been a while but someone here will know.

What do I want to see?  Hordes of lasgun toting uneducated scum being sent to their deaths as a human tidal wave of flesh aka The Hammer of the Emperor.

..and Penal Battalions,

...and Ogryns.  You just gotta love the big lugs.

Where it comes to advancement I think I would prefer the tree system  from DH. After all, Almost all members of the IG were conscripts (Or Cadets if officers but it's the same thing.)  The specialties would probably start a little earlier than DH, maybe as low as second or third lvl. After all, in the fluff many of the specialties are actually drawn from the ranks of other specialties anyway! (The Commisars are actually only promoted to Cadet Commisar after having served with a Stormtrooper unit.) Since it seems like this game will start at the basic (lvl 1) level like DH this does seem to make the most sense!

The Emperor protects! (The GM does not!)

1. Horde rules to challenge mere mortals

2. Xp conversions to make it more easily compatible with the various other products

3. Throne costs as well as some form of requisition system

Being able to pull off Commissar Cain-style antics.

That is all.

I do not speak in any official capacity for FFG, all my posts are my own opinion, speculation, etc.

 1. Full range of options to cover every single unit option in the Imperial Guard Codex.

2. Options from some of Forgeworlds more exotic models, such as the Elysian Drop troops drop infantry (easy enough to do in any existing 40k RP book) and drop vehicles (grav-chutes for Sentinels and buggies).

3. A proper command structure with ranks that bestow both perks and responsibilities, and commissars being there to enforce the whole system.

A squad mode mechanic like in Deathwatch, but without squad mode abilities being tied to those Throne-Damned Oaths. That was a cumbersome mechanic.

Given FFG's fondness for trying to literally translate 40k game mechanics (which I dont agree with) I wouldn't be surprised if it had some Squad Mode like mechanic, probably called "Orders".

My wishlist

1/  A regiment creation system, similar to the Chapter making system in Rites of war

2/  Stats for Superheavy tanks and the big battle Titans

3/  An indepth explanation of the size and scope of the Imperial Guard (with lots of big numbers!)

4/  A description of various campaigns taking place across the Imperium.

My wish for Only War is a use it as a continuation of the Calixis Sector, given the change in landscape after a particular recent module. I''d also like to see some supplements or at least a nod for using things from DH in Only War since I expect the power levels to be similar.

IIRC vehicles are dropped with specially built Valkyrie vehicle carriers, not giant grav chutes.

That entirely depends on the regiment in question. The Elysian drop troops are specialist deep-strike troops, with heavy carapace armoured infantry and a dependance on man-portable heavy weapons, sentinels and attack/scout buggies (all unique to Forgeworld) that are all deployed via modified grav chutes from valkyrie transports and other high altitude transport vehicles. They don't however use battle tanks or anything particularly 'mechanised'.

I got my wish.

As fas as I can tell, everyone has shut up with all the whiny bitching and moaning.
