Adding Rogue and Sprite to the list

The new list is:

First choice:

Vampiress, Swashbuckler, Dark Cultist, Prophetess, Black Witch,Gladiator, Rogue, Leprechaun, Alchemist, Philosopher, Excorcist, Martyress, Courtisan, Shape Shifter, Amazone, Wizard

Second Choice:

Valkyrie, Highlander, Merchant, Knight, Gypsy, Sprite, Druid, Warlock, Apprentice Magician, Thief, Ilusionistess, Djinn,Fortune Knight, Satan Servant

( Assassin(due for overpowered and boring character)

Third Choice:

Minstrel, Sorceress, Monk, Warrior, Troll, Priest, Sage?, Juggler

Fourth Choice

Dwarf . Elf, Necromancer, Ogre Chieftain,

Ghoul, Goblin Shaman
 

Updated my statistics thread over on BGG. No more plays until I get Highland (could be next week, though not counting on it):

No character analysis in the latest post, all chars have been covered (some very briefly) in previous posts, so just win-loss and assorted colums, along with Reaper/Toad/Lord of Darkness stats.

Man I wish I lived where you guys play.  Can't get people to play on anything other than whims.

I'd love to play a weekly match.

I change my list a little.

First choice:

I drop some spell casters to my third choice...

I am not so very fond with those characters

I put the magus and the chivalric knight on my third choice list:) ( including the elf again..

Sorceress looks more interesting to me now, so i put her on second choice etc

Troll sounds boring, and stand in fourth choice now
 

i am a cranky old man. how can your favo(u)rite character be a list of 7 characters? dam. you dont have the highlands? maybe you should get a (hopefully 2nd) job and go buy them instead of tracking all of your talisman stats and posting nonsense on here.  i raised this same question the other day with the "your favorite character in multiplayer 4+ games" post. my favorite is the arch-mage simply because he could not be turned into a toad. this game plays so much differently in a 1v1 setting compared to a multiplayer setting it is almost 2 different games. dwarf 1v1 wins probably 75% of the time. the dwarf in a 4 or 5 player game he has just as good of a shot as anyone else. thief or merchant in a 1v1. almost useless. 4 or 5 peeps playing, those characters powers will actually come into play and be useful if not game altering.

best character :  troll. brute strength. bulldoze the dungeon or die. gain CoC. DAM do you have the dungeon?

my favo(u)rite: elf. love to teleport between the woods and evade the bad stuff i encounter or horde the good stuff i like. great character to start with simply because all of his abilities are tied with stuff that is immediately at your disposal. 3-4 with 3 fate...

Troll is nice in the Dungeon, but I'd still go with the Ogre Chieftain for Lord of Darkness ass-kicking. OC doesn't even need to gain Str, just kill Monsters, keep them as Followers, unleash them all at Treasure Chamber. That is if we were cherry-picking characters, which we don't do. I made some changes again..

I put the Fortune knight on the third list, and the Satan Servant on my fifth choice list:)

I think that it's very difficult to play with the Satan Servant

I have put the priest and monk in my second choice of characters, because they are still interesting to play.

One intersting type of character I like are the ones that have a way to gain spells but have to do something first (Druid, Priest, Alchemist, Dark Cultist, Gypsy, Knight (50% chance at church), Monk (1/3 chance at church) because I love having spells but its more fun if you have to "quest" to get them.
