Perhaps we will see the Band of Zombies again from the 2nd edition in the Blood Moon Expansion!

Thanks Oberon:)

I hope that there is also some undead included, because they have been mentioned on the FFG news page.

I have not seen them yet on any artwork or card.

Seeing the return of the Undead Champion and the skeleton warriors from third edition would be nice:)

I never saw the third ed, and that sounds very interesting. Of course with skeleton warriors I get the old Sindbad or Jason/Argonaut images going.  Cool!

With 110 cards I am sure there will be a good mix of undead - vampires, lichs, ghosts, ghouls, zombies,e tc. to mix in with the cards we already have. I think there should be a Zombie castle raid etc, like the dragon raids from that expansion. Zombies, ghouls, skeletons charging the Castle or other spaces!

-Oberon

Well, they were included in the Dragon tower, and the undead champion has a strenght of 7, but if you lose, you must fight him again.

So that would be too strong and nasty for the outer region:)

Haha, i have also jason and the argonauts movie:)

Anyway, we need to wait until someone knows the card list of this expansion.

Then we can see from the names what the expansion has to offer.

But… waiting is so… WAITFUL!

-Oberon  (PS: I remember Band of Zombies from 2nd - was pretty cool!)

There is more news today.

You can take a look at the Vampiric Thirst artwork from Christopher Burdett here, that has show up in the rulebook as a Lunar event.

Lunar Event:

Perigee Moon

All characters are turned into Lycanthropes.

Ok this is only me messing about, but there was a Perigee Moon yesterday and we all know that's a super full moon lol

Nice Lunar event then.

I assume that this is for every character on the board, including regions:)

I'm not sure I would favor an event that turned all players into lycanthropes…

unless there are some cards that have antidotes for the condition. Some popular werewolf novels, stories have explored that a little bit; silver components or charms/amulets. I think there were even some movies that showed a character using some mystic or alternative method of curing or containing the werewolf beast within.

I did think that turning into a toad, as a way of curing the lycanthrope was clever. Perhaps there are some new cards in this deck that has new witches or magic users, or new shrines or temples, where the lycanthrope can be cured?

I am wondering if a character really wants to be cured…

Getting a +2 to the attack roll in the night feels like a blessing:)

The only downside is that a character should stay away from other characters, if he is too weak to fight them.

I honestly haven't read these new rules enough to understand those distinctions; you're right and some would see 'it' as an advantage.

To this, I would say I hope it isn't too easy to become a lycanthrope.

At any rate, I suppose different players have different strategies or resonance, even, towards these different scenarios. My wife, the only one I play with, does not like to encounter Dragon Prince cards and will always encounter the alternative when possible. She knows there are real cool objects, spells, etc to receive possibly, but considers it a risk she won't take.

This new set seems to have something for everyone, from what I've heard so far. I don't remember being as excited for any of the previous sets.

There is a lycanthropy card on the first page of this topic.

So you can see what it does.

It was also included in one of the talisman previews from FFG.

I have this concern as well. If one or two people get lycanthropy it's interesting, but if the game goes on long enough everyone will have it. That isn't so interesting.

In my games, I plan to only allow lycanthropy to be spread during the night, to lessen the odds of a game-wide werewolf pandemic. That seems more in theme with the mythos behind werewolves, also.
