Anyone else notice the box in that picture.
With most board game boxes (actually all board games i've encountered, there may be some made this way, but i'm not sure), the box top fits around the bottom portion of the box, in this picture however, the box top is fitting into the bottom part of the box.
Just something weird that I noticed.
Good eye. I hadn't noticed that before. It's weird, though. The bottom of the box doesn't appear to have that border. It's almost like the lid doesn't actually come off but folds open like a doughnut box instead.

Not really. The picture shows the bottom of the box.
What you say is certainly the most parsimonious explanation. Most boxes have a product description with game pictures on the bottom of the box, but seeing as this game doesn't have a game description yet, it makes sense that they would just print the front art on the bottom of the box. It sure beats having a blank box bottom. Still, I think it would be cool for them to do a doughnut box style game box . . .
Well, the description says 1-4 plrs, so I believe it will be that. I wouldn´t want it any other way anyway, since I´m mostly playing on my own. I fancy Star Wars a bit, so I will buy it the day it comes out, (and if it´s not possible to play alone I won´t get it) . And I´m sure it will come with a lot of cool expansions afterwards too.

Well, I read what it said and it said 1-4 plrs. But let´s just see what it will be with time. It´s not yet released. But the fact of it being 1-4 or 2-4 plrs will decide whether I give my cash to FFG or not for this game.

I'm not sure if anyone else has tried the direct approach, so over the weekend I just emailed FFG and asked them what direction the game is being taken in currently. The official response last night was that they can't tell me, couched in a way that makes me wonder whether they even know themselves. Hm.

You won't get official 'intelligence' until they're sure which way to go. And the playtesters are under an NDA. All one of them was able to tell was basically 'after the first couple of playtesting rounds they weren't satisfied with the rules and it went back to the drawing boards, so expect it to be delayed'.

I was just thinking that it's been two months since they announced it was back in development, an announcement that came on the back of presumably three or more months of deliberating where they kept putting the release date back, so I thought perhaps in this time they may have made a decision about basic structure of a game to then develop said game. As it stands, it almost seems to me like the project has been sitting in a dark cupboard gathering dust.
I'll admit it, I'm getting really embittered about this game! It's almost like it actually matters...

I think what's happening is that the game designers know what they *want* the game to do. They are, unfortunately, having trouble getting that to work as far as game mechanics once playtesting started. It is also possible, since this is a licensed title, that Lucas (whichever of his companies the license comes from) has a say in the development as well. For example, it is possible that Lucas does not want similar mechanics to the LoTR LCG (because that is a different license), so FFG has to avoid using game mechanics that are similar to LoTR. That makes the development process more difficult, especially if they had originally designed the game with some of those mechanics.

This didn't even occur to me as a possible reason for the delay/redesign, but it totally makes sense. Lucasfilm can never leave well enough alone. And it was their screwing around that got Decipher's game canceled.

If you say so. Personally, I think the enormous fan clamor to have Wizards continue SWCCG rather than creating an entirely new game speaks for itself.

Did you mean Wizards or FFG?

I mean Wizards. The reason they got so much flak for their game is because everyone wanted to see Decipher''s game resurrected, but Wizards said no. It''''s pretty much the only card game I know of that had an anti-fandom.

Yes, it seems to be a very risky business trying to make a card game that involves Star Wars…
