In the interest of staying on FFG's happy side, I'm gonna hold out for Budgernaut's mod. I just wanted to see if/how you pulled it off, is all.

Why… are these boards… so… slooooooow?

First off, Aiden: this mod is awesome! Thanks for all your hard work. It's all there, but I have a few suggestions/concerns.

In the title, the word “miniature” should be “miniatures.” It should read “X-wing miniatures game.”

I don’t think 15 degree increments for rotation is enough. That's 24 facings. I tried switching it to 360 facings, and it takes 4 seconds of holding the arrow key down to rotate your ship 90 degrees. So in practice 15 degrees isn't so bad, but it does limit the finer elements of positioning during set-up and collisions.

No Koiogran turn template. Okay, so that's just nitpicking.

I don’t get why you have to enter in the values for the ships every time you put a new one down. Seems laborious. And at any rate, aren’t the stats for each ship the same, regardless of pilot? It should just be part of the piece.

I don’t like how the dice automatically rolls 5 at a time. It should probably be just one die at a time, and you click it as many times as you need, and then it’s recorded in the log. Actually, I’d be fine just ditching the dice altogether since presumably anybody that plays will have their own dice, and I would never cheat.

Those are my thoughts. Again, it sounds critical, but I am grateful for all you've done, and I am just providing feedback and keeping a dialog open to make it even better.

Some people play to win. I play because it's one of the few ways to fly an X-wing here on Earth!

Here's my tip: read this thread. The whole reason I brought up this issue was so that people wouldn't be put off by my range guide when I made my mod, but nobody seemed to pay any attention to it.

EDIT: You know, your mod does something really well that mine wouldn't: it allows easy creation of brand new pilots. It's easy to just add a new name and different skill level of a custom pilot.

EDIT 2: And I suppose I should let you know that I got your mod from Parakitor since we're twins. I hope you don't mind that he shared it with me, but there's nobody we know well enough to share with so I promise you the dispersal stops with me.

I'm liking what I'm hearing so far.  Can't wait until those minor bugs are worked out.

“Love won’t save you, Padme. Only my new powers can do that."

“I’m haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me.”

“Mom, you said that the biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other.”

Ok, doing some tweaking.   V.2 will be uploadable -have your cards handy.  I would like beta testers still, and I don't know how long FFG will take to reply to a request for permission to make this module public, so the only way I have to get a test base going is by direct communication.  I'd love for more players to test this mod with me, so share. =)  I should have V.2 done tonight.  if you have V.1, delete it and contact me for V.2 asap.

I'll log into the VASSAL "A_Chat_Module" when I'm available.

First off I want to say thank you for putting this all together.  You've done a great job, and this will help promote the game as well as allow for those without easy access to opponents to enjoy it.  I downloaded it yesterday, and was pretty impressed.  I do have a couple of comments I'd like to share with you, though, for possible inclusion in an update at some point.

The dials for the Y-Wing and TIE Advanced seem to be broken (at least for me).  When selected from the pieces menu, they are an image of the ship with a number and name tag, but no list of maneuvers.  Thus, currently I can't really play with a force including either of those ships.

My other comment is more a quality of life rather than bug.  It would be nice to select and drag out any number of dice onto the play area, and then roll them there.  Currently, I haven't found any way to modify the number of dice in the dice window.  Now a huge deal, but it does mean that players have to have an agreement as to which dice count when not rolling the full compliment.

Thanks again for all of this!

Ok, great mod! only played with it a bit, but so far I like what I see.

Only complaint. not having the details on the cards. I understand the reasoning for this. but it is annoying. I personally have 14 ships, so I have everything. But my buddies dont. I'm not gonna sit there and tell them their stats every 5 mins. The stats and details need to be on the cards also.

The image of the ship is what hides your maneuver from your opponent.  Then when you hit Ctrl+R you can Reveal your move.  It sounds like you may be having a problem with the mask.  That's wierd.  I have actually tried setting dials on the board, hiding them switching sides/saving game, loading as different side, and I can always see the dial.  It's only when I'm connected to another player and he drags them out and hides them that I ever see the full mask.

I'd suggest delete your module and extensions, re-download and reload.  This may clear your problem.  It's an odd one, congratulations, YOU WIN!

Sorry, I tend to be doing several things at once.

I see your message.  Look for me in VASSAL this weekend.

I totally get that. You're right that it is annoying to have to keep looking at the cards. And I hate to say it, but your friends not having the stats is kind of the point: people who don't own the game shouldn't be able to play it. I know, I know, if you had your friends over for game night, only one person needs the game, but when you go digital, it's easy to abuse that. Your friends could then play other people without either of them owning the game. Having the stats, abilities, upgrades, and costs hidden on the mod is a step towards ensuring that only those who own the game can play it.

The alternative to this is to not have a Vassal mod at all.

Did I download the right mod? The Y-wing and the TIE Advanced movement dials are messed up.
