Lol @ boycotting.
im in, no way I'm spending $2000, but between me and my gaming group I know we'll hit the $1000 mark. We just did our first group order. I'm the point man, so to speak, for our Dust Models. I know this coming year will probably wrangle some cash out of me with the allied fliers coming out and the new allied walkers on the horizon. If you're not interested, move along.
Oh good - it wasn't just me that didn't understand the hate towards this idea.
Provided they don't make game affecting units (i.e. different stats) available, I don't see the problem. I am waiting to see what they offer before putting any money down, but don't have any problems with it on principle.
It is simple. It is not confusion. The dislike of thier awsards program that you have to pay to get the awards program and then you have to order tons of stuff to get the awards program.
Will out little boycott work, no. But for us we are disappointed that DUST would make you pay to get membership for the discount. They dont sell anything on their site that is required to play the game that is exclusively available through them. Only special order games that have no game stats/points or value. So there is no reason to continue to give them money directly. We are more than capable of painting our own figures, more than capable of buying dust models for 35% off from Miniature Market and so forth.
LOL all you want BLKDYMND, I am glad the program helps out some people. But if they are going to have a savings program it should not be $50 to join and then only get a break if you meet conditions A and then condition B for a even bigger break, a year from now!
Yes move along, I am pretty sure that is exactly what we are saying, but we would rather see Dust Models create a savings program that isnt exclusive to those who already spend thousands of dollars on their site. And if enough people passed on it they may revise it or scrap it or make it across the board 10% off or something.
Or you could be sheep.
Emperor, let Your undeniable light burn on the mishappen and twisted, so I can see them with pure sight, and purge them with righteous fire!

Way to finish your post in style, man…
So anybody who doesn't join you in your senseless boycott is now sheep? The only thing I've ever bought from Dust Models was some $20 worth of great decals. So you think I should now be revolted that I won't be getting a 10% discount for no good reason on my next $5 purchase? I really don't see the logic there.
Suck my Mickey

Maybe sheep will be the next release in the "Innocent Bystanders" line?
Seriously, though, just because folks don't have an issue with a completely innoffensive customer rewards programs hardly makes them "sheep".

Who's the wolf then?
(BTW that's too cool of a nickname for a hero to get wasted! Wolf hero for the Axis!)

I don't always play board-games, but when I do I play Tannhauser.

Hah, didn't even knew that, found this guy in proposed by FFG ;)
Ehh such a waste of a great nickname! Why o why! We could have Stefan nicknamed that! :D Or some old warewolf colonel!
Well that escalated quickly…
So the complaint appears to be that the loyalty scheme with discounts for large purchases requires you to make… large purchases. Who woulda thunk it?
When I was a kid I payed money to join the G.I.Joe fanclub, that gave me a 25 minute video of a random episode of the cartoon and a yearly product catalogue (just in time for Christmas). It also allowed me to buy a yearly exclusive action figure.
Last week I payed money to join Dust Elite, that gave me an exclusive T-shirt and mug, free postage on $150 orders (instead of $250), a way to build discount and it allows me to buy exclusive product.
I was happy to pay the money when I was nine and I'm happy to pay the money now that I'm thirtyfive.
This is an extra thing that Dust-models offers to its customers. I like it and will accept that others might not but the hate towards Dust Elite seems a bit excessive, I'm sure there are more important things to get worked up about.
