Our group is still playing VTES fortnightly, regardless of the cancellation. The player organisation is still producing rulings and is even gearing up for producing an online expansion. The game itself is great.

I find it interesting that someone said it was too combat heavy - combat is a notoriously weak strategy in tournaments, and, in my experience, most of the game is played off the table. This type of thing is what has drawn me toward the AGOT LCG - I've heard it is much the same in Melee mode: negotiation, bullying, outright deception...

That said, while I'm pretty happy to keep playing VTES as is, I would *love* to see it picked up in some capacity by anyone, especially in an LCG format.

I played Jyhad when it first came out and really did enjoy the game. I wouldn't mind seeing this as an LCG.

Combat was only one of three main strategies available and by utilizing the expansion sets the possibilities and shear variety of possibilities opened up quite a lot more. I have been playing since 1991 and I am still coming up with new ideas on how to use old cards in combination with new ones and old ones alike. If you have an imagination and like to actually utilize it in interesting ways, VtES is an excellent CCG for just that. Hell, even if I don't win, I still have a blast coming up with ways to circumvent problems that my opponents throw at me.

As far as PDF only goes, that is actually quite wrong. The V:EKN (Vampire: Elder Kindred Network), basically a group of very devoted, organized and funded players got together and are getting new sets published. They could have had the first set out that they produced last December, but OneBookShelf, CCP and Hasbro are giving them a bit of trouble. How bad it is I do not know, but I figure they do not want to rock the boat too much and just want to get the new set out as soon as possible. Since they have been waiting though they have been working on the next set already and have been looking into print-on-demand options for old sets. Which would be great since when you can find some of the more sought after and older boxes they are selling for over 300.

I also see that at least some of you obviously do not know about the print-on-demand aspect of pretty much the entire library of Classic and New WoD from drivethroughrpg. CCP taking over was a tragedy and the supposed Vampire MMO has been “in the works” and “almost done” for years now. Trying to think about it I first heard about it over 6 years ago at the very least. As much as I would still love to see that happen, I gave up on it a long time ago. As far as VtES goes though, baring some great apocalyptic zombie plague I would expect to see the first V:EKN set out no later than the beginning of summer.

You realize this thread was over a year old before you posted ?

If the rumors are true and FFG does have the rights for a new V:TES LCG I would not expect VEKN to print anything as that would be copyright infringement.

After reading the relevant threads I still have major doubts about the veracity of those sources of the rumours and won't get my hopes up. If , however, FFG ends up releasing a World of Darkness/Vampire-themed LCG, I will throw buckets of money at them. :)
