@dcdennis  I had the same thought this morning.  It would extremely easy to do a survey monkey, post the link here and ask that ONLY those attending the event vote (ask for screen name).  I don't mean to undermine Dan's decision, though. Sometimes it's better to just stick with the decision you made.

Or I could just send you to Bolivia. :P

My problem with that is that my decision is based on the fact that there is no time for everyone to adapt to the meta with now 9 days left to go. If there were a survey that would just take more time away from people preparing, and create confusion about what is and what is not legal. I don't want people showing up with two different ideas about what constitutes a legal deck.

I know that it may not be a decision that everyone likes, but I think it the fairest and the right one.

I wonder what will NY players choose now: DC regional without Valar Morghulis or Rochester, NY regional with Valar Morghulis (for the price of extra 1.5 hour of driving) since they both happen on the same day?

And are TOs really allowed to make some packs legal/illegal on top of Tournament Rules? I thought the only thing TOs can do is to interpret cards/rulings on cards the way they think is right (Like rulings about Free Man or Maester's Agenda win/loss at the time limit).

We are still committed to DC.  I'm driving, so that's that :-)  I went to college in Rochester, but it is just a bit too far…

The problem with setting up rules that conflict with FFG's tournament rules is that people who don't read the forums will show up to the tourney expecting that the pack will be legal.

This document gives TOs a fair amount of discretion.  Technicially however it doesn't explicitly give permission to limit the card pool but FFG has historically been very accomodating to local TOs.

I confirmed with Damon, and he said that TOs always have the final decision on card legality for a regionals. Obviously this has to be within reason since the players would revolt to outrageous bannings.

It will be interesting to compare results. I suspect that everyone will play Targ burn at Rochester.

I don't doubt it.  Targ Burn was already 27% of the field at Kublacon.

I voted in favor of allowing the chapter pack, even though it apparently will have no bearing on the outcome :P To be honest, I'm headed to DC either way, so it won't affect my attendance. I am tired of the maester-dominated field though, and a change-up would be nice :)

Glad you're still coming!

I think the field will always be maester-dominated as long as they don't get further errata to the agenda, unfortunately. Incinerate is good, but if you can still rush out Conclaves for 0 or 1 gold, that will always be near impossible to target burn. I think it will just further solidify maesters run out of martell, and targ will shift to summer or KotHH again.

You know you could always netdeck Fieras's Bara deck. I know how much you love Bara and Martell. :P

2/3 decks I'm considering are not maesters.

Brian, is that 2 of the 3 decks you are considering are not "Maester's Path?" or decks that are 2/3's completed are mostly non-maester. :)
