can this be played with 2 players
Published on 03 February 2012 - 09:50:54

sorry couldnt find this anywhere on the forum but can this be played with 2 players or must it be done with at least three because while I can probably play with 3 most of my friends like shorter games rather then extremely long games.

"Before Elves, before Dwarfs, before Men, the Old Ones arrived upon this world.  Then came Chaosthe Great Plan of the Old Ones was unmade.  We are the last of their servant, only by our hand shall the Great Plan be restored, with the total defeat of the usurping younger races."

Yes.

Just use 4 suspects instead of 3. On a first time playthrough, you should manage around 3 hours. Ideally use two detectives that like to plant evidence otherwise it becomes far too obvious to guess/deduce your tactics.

Android is excellent. Enjoy!

What Khula said. It's also worth mentioning that while the game is playable with two, the feel of the game is certainly different than if you play it with three to five. But, it still works, and is enjoyable.

When I've played with two, I also used the optional variants in the FAQ (on the Android resources page here on FFG). They help balance it out a little.

There's a variant in the FAQ? How did I miss that?

Hello... is this thing on? How do you know if it's recording?

There isn't a two player variant, no. But I mean the variants that ARE in the FAQ help make it more playable with two players.

Though some cards contradict a one-vs-one Android game, I found it more balanced. I believe two-vs-two would be best, if someone took the time to figure it out.

Or you could just buy Wiz-War. That's what I did.

My wife and I played it as a two player version and we had a lot of fun.

Important was, as already pointed out here before, to have 4 suspects and not just 3.

the game works pretty good as a 2 player game, me and my girlfriend have given it a couple of tries.

and I have to say it works like a dream, perhaps the deducting can be a bit easy, but like mentioned before, if you take one or two more suspects….trouble solved

I want to chime in here as well,

Multiple plays 2 player and all were super easy. As said before simply add more suspects to conceal your suspects evidence strategy.
