(ANDROID) A boardgame that's almost a RPG...
Published on 04 December 2008 - 20:18:33

This week, the innovative ANDROID designer Kevin Wilson brought us something new in board game design : Light vs Dark plot cards, in interaction with basic cards*. This reminds me a lot of my recent life as an active roleplayer, especially the Harrowings in Wraith: The Oblivion RPG. FFG is bringing the "role" aspect into the boardgame hobby, a breakthrough in the field.

I'm curious to how this plays out in the game, and how much mood a group can gather by actively "roleplaying" their characters in the game. We only tried that with Cheapassgames' Witch Trial (in which we played the sleazy lawyers' cases), but I think Arkham Horror would be well suited, and I'd love to give a try to that with ANDROID.

Any thoughts or playtest experiences on that?
